What is the best free website hosting service?

As for free webhosting services, the best i've come across is Yahoo's Geocities. It's a real nice interface for beginners, and it's really idiot proof (you don't even need to know what FTP is). If you're serious about your site though, the $5 bucks a month goes a long way (not sure on the really good/cheap pay host servers).

best....free.... not two words you normally find in the same sentance.

The "best" solution is to pay for hosting. Like rocketman089 said for $5 a month you can get your own .com and webspace with support. However if you dont really care about your site that much then Lycos Tripod (the UK version) and 50megs.com are about as good as you'll get :(

You can choose to just post a certain amount of times on the forum each month to keep your site or put their ads on.
