pureprayer
You are level 46 so make prayer pots or super antis when you can. Another option is super energy potions. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
SixFootOne
Personally i made serums. It is just ashes + tarromin and a water filled vial, if i remember correctly they are like 50 xp per pot. One thing to remember is the pot is pretty much useless.

Imamonkey
I haven't messed with them in a while, but... I used to make combat potions for a while. I got the goat horns myself and paid for a lot of the Harralander herbs. I forgot what level I was and what level I did it to. I sold a bunch to make some money back, and I have a bunch in my bank. And it is not a bad pot. Actually a pretty nice potion to have if you ask me. Just an option I thought I would throw at ya. You get some combat experience to if you are more interested in training it some. I had the enchanted tiara too, so to me that made it more bearable than dealing with waterskins. The farming route is a pretty good choice as it is the one I am mostly using at the moment. Edit: I also killed a lot of extra goats and sold extra horns to make up for my loss. I am one of those who can't stand to lose money at anything. But that just depends on what type of player you are and how you go about doing things. Goat horns (at least used to) sell for a pretty good price, and back when I was selling them they moved quick enough.
SportsGuy
I'm with you Imamonkey...combat potions are useful, sell well, and not that hard to farm if you have done the Spirits of the Elid quest (since you can use the town shrine and the water fountain after). I, too, hate losing money on anything. You of course have to be able to MAKE those potions, but if cost is a factor, make what you can...if it isn't, make the highest potion you can. The worst thing would be to have tons of potions you can't unload on the GE. I'd stick to good sellers, even if you don't care about the costs. Oh, and anytime you get a book or genie lamp, use it on herblore...same with penguin points. Troacctid
The RS Wiki has a handy calculator for the gp/xp of all the various potions you can make. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Potions Prayer potions are probably a good bet for most of the way, as everything is easy to buy and sell and they're relatively cost-effective. When you hit higher levels you may prefer super attack, super strength, or super energy potions, which are also reasonably cost-effective and easy to buy and sell, but are faster experience. Super restores, antifires, range pots, and sara brews are good potions too, although you can't make them until after your goal level anyway, so there wouldn't be much point I suppose. Combat potions are pretty expensive--the finished potion's price is less than half that of the ingredients'. Prayer potions would be a better choice, as they are cheaper for about the same experience. ugafan_2009
Hopefully my advice isn't too outdated. I'd personally get a nice supply of ranarr seeds, vials, and snape grass. While you are getting your other skills to 60, hit up the farming patches every chance you get. Do it when you first log on RS in the day, right before you get off for the day, and any other time you might be playing(as long as it's been 90ish minutes). It sounds slow, but you'll build a nice stash of ranarrs fast and you'll gain plenty of profit and herb xp. If you're still short of your goal, just buy it the rest of the way with your profit. Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651

Ah, but that's farming advice, not herblore. Good advice nonetheless, but it's not necessarily worth it to plant the same herb you're using in potions, such as with irit or avantoe, which for the most part are inferior choices for planting. It doesn't technically cut costs on herblore either--it just adds a new source of income, not much different from regularly checking Miscellania or buying out Zaff's stock of battlestaves daily. (This is because the herbs you grow can easily be sold for their GE value, so if you use them up you're still using up that full gp amount one way or another, whether you buy or grow them.)
