February 2, 200917 yr ever considering using a bump system similar to the runescape forums? It would be greatly appreciated if all submissions would be officially credited to Huge Brain. How much is your account worth to you? Check out this hot topic: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=775255
February 2, 200917 yr I know that bumps were at least used in the clan recruitment forums. I'm not sure if they still are, but they at least were at one point. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
February 2, 200917 yr We have a bumping system in some forums in the Clan section, including the Recruitment forums. I doubt you can convince the Administrators that it's useful for many other forums, but if you have anything specific in mind, please suggest it. Laikrob, Clan Staff You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
February 2, 200917 yr have one for blogscape too? Some reasoning would increase your chances. :) You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
February 2, 200917 yr Well i know lots of people with blogs who post just to bump the topic so others can see&post supports and other comments, but they usually do it with a post. I'm not to sure about bump systems, having never posted on rsof but i'm pretty sure they're much quicker than opening a new page, typing "bump" or whatever and then clicknig sumbit, then following the redirecting message.
February 2, 200917 yr In phpBB the bump system is actually a button (Next to the bookmark topic button) that says "Bump". Then you get redirected to the forum again and the topic is a) At the top of that page and B) Marked as unread.
February 2, 200917 yr The argument against that would be that people are supposed to actually write new content in their blogs instead of just repeatedly bumping because they want people to comment in them. Not trying to be negative, just want the reasoning to be well thought-through. :) You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
February 3, 200917 yr Author This might be more useful in correction forums such as the website update and corrections where if a correction isn't near the top or on the first page its less likely to be noticed and corrected. i'm not saying that this is the case but in my opinion however flawed it may be this is the case. You might inpliment a system where every number of views the topic is bumped up a certain number if you don't want it to be sent all the way up. It would be greatly appreciated if all submissions would be officially credited to Huge Brain. How much is your account worth to you? February 3, 200917 yr This might be more useful in correction forums such as the website update and corrections where if a correction isn't near the top or on the first page its less likely to be noticed and corrected. The Website part of the forum imo does not need a bump system. Crewbies have no problem seeing and recognizing the post, it is more so the time to do the actual correction/researching. You might inpliment a system where every number of views the topic is bumped up a certain number if you don't want it to be sent all the way up. Most of those views are by crewbies. ;) No need to bump something. RIP MichaelangelopolousThanks to cowboy14 for the pimp sig!
