February 2, 200917 yr A while ago I heard some rumours about the leaf-bladed sword being an excellent weapon for certain bigger (boss-) monsters? Who knows more about this? (Not talking about Kurasks&Thuroths)
February 2, 200917 yr I have heard the same thing, perhaps it's because the semi decent stab bonus? I haven't tried it though so i can't say for sure.
February 2, 200917 yr I believe there are meant to be better then whip for the metal dragons (iron and above, due to its high stab bonus and it being 1 handed). Not sure about any other bosses though. February 2, 200917 yr I'm pretty sure it's only applicable to mithril dragons. The reason is that dragons are weaker to stab than to the typical slash attacks of the whip or dragon scimitar. For most dragons the difference is small enough not to matter, but mithril dragons have such incredibly high defence that it's much more relevant. The leaf-bladed sword is the strongest one-handed stab weapon in the game (not counting Vesta's Longsword of course) making it the ideal choice for meleeing mithril dragons. The other boss monster where this would be applicable is the corporeal beast, which is also much weaker to stab than to slash. However, in that case, a Zamorakian spear is preferable as it offers better stats than the leaf-bladed sword. The spear would be better at mith drags too, if it weren't for the obvious necessity of the shield slot to protect against dragonbreath. That's what I've been told, anyway...I haven't exactly killed a lot of mithril dragons or corporeal beasts, myself. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
February 2, 200917 yr i personally never noticed a difference between leafbladed sword and whip on mith tasks if anything it had a lower max hit and took slightly longer to kill
February 3, 200917 yr I will try next time I get miths. They die pretty fast with my stats and piety with a whip. Trust the Gene Genie!

You pretty much nailed it, personally I use Dragon Longsword's controlled stab attack against Mithril Dragons because it's strength bonus is so much higher than leaf-bladed sword.
