gorgeous bald eagle. by far my fav bird.

 

 

 

work on focus

they look kinda like paintings(river)

They all could stand to be smaller in size and given a bit of color correction.

That's the best one IMO.

 

 

 

You need to crop out the foreground on some of the other river pictures as they completely mess up the composition.

How close was it? which lens did you use?

 

 

 

I'm very interested in birding, and I will lend my friend's Sigma 80-400 this weekend to try some birding near me.

 

I wont be seeing any eagles though :|

 

 

 

Keep it up, try to photograph when the light is special. Return to that river a few hours before sunset, or just when the light is warmer than the usual light.

@Yaff, All of them seem a little out of focus. I think I have to work on setting up and composing the picture, getting right focus more before I take the picture

 

 

 

@Nad Thanks a lot, that looks a lot better. I hadn't done any minor adjustments to any, mainly I don't really have a sense of what I should do to each picture to improve it.

I don't really remember how close I was, I saw it fly in outside with the fish so I ran downstairs to get the camera and shot it (quickly, and not completely in focus). I think I might have been around 20 feet away with a 70-210mm lens.

 

As for the river ones, I shot those around sunset. What should I do next time to make them look better?

Compose them correctly, and correctly set the exposures next time. The water ones seem a little dark, and need cropping/colour correction. Don't be afraid to give them a zap in photoshop.

How would you just, for example, I crop the second one?

 

I don't like the branches behind the eagle, it would have been better if I had a smaller aperture (in my opinion).

I'd take around 200px off the bottom.

As for the river ones, I shot those around sunset. What should I do next time to make them look better?

 

 

 

I would follow the river to find a place with less trees where light is coming through.

 

I dont know if that would work out, but you could always try ;)
