Opieous Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 Hi. As I can no longer be a member for the next 15-18 months (RL Issues) my main (only) account is pretty useless to me in f2p. So instead of grating my rear off for skills in f2p i decided to try pvp. And as i have no idea of pvp i need help. - Type:- I'll be making a ranged pure. i.e.- 1 att, 1 def, 1 str & 1 prayer. low combat ftw! - Magic:- Will gain a few magic lvls from witches potion quest, raising it to lvl 37 for teleports after that curse / body rune spells so that i don't gain too much hp. Should I take it to 59 for fire blast or leave mage out? just for tellies and stuff? - Money:- Don't want millions... just want enough to play well. How do i go about it? So far i've made around 25k. 20k from the stronghold & player safety thing. 5 k by selling feathers(5 gp ea) and bones(62-66 gp ea) from the chicken i killed. Have 92 WC on main but don't feel like doing it all over again. plus oaks are the only logs that are worth cutting. willows don't sell and yews are too slow. I'm completely clueless. - Training:- Bought 1k bronze arrows to start with. Currently killing chickens. Tried lvl 2 Men but 1 def literally sucks. *What to kill at what level? *When to move at cows? *Are minotaurs good? When to kill them? *Any monsters/npc with good drops? *What about elemental mages(air/earth/fire/water). Heard they are a good source of runes. When to kill them? Haven't found a guide yet that tells how to train a pure ranger. If there's a good guide then a link would help. Other Info:- - I'd surely get members if this pure thing works out fine. (but it'll happen after 15-18 months.) - I searched RS stuff and came up with two names. Karil and Morrigan. Two powerful rangers. And as Morrigan's Armour and stuff requires a higher ranged lvl to wear, chose the name Maurrigan for my pure. - Add me if u'd like to tell something or have some very cool info or if u're getting bored and want a chat. - EDIT: Patience is one thing i have a lot. Can train to 70 ranged and then start pking... cuteymitzy Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 As long as you don't raise your mage lvl higher than range I'd raise the mage b/c it becomes a boosted mage defense. Fist of Guthix and cursing people is a good way ta get free mage exp if you don't have the cash. Also, use the fence to your advantage at first... cows are just fine as well as many other npc's that you can range over a fence. alcoolj Posted February 25, 2009 Share Posted February 25, 2009 By now you have probably 50+ range lolz, but anyhoo go to minataurs directly, and range away til 70. You can easily get to 77 range and be under 56 combat, and use non hp gaining spells to raise your mage. You will be a great addition to any pking group, but will struggle in solo pking, as you do not have a KO attack. You will be fighting other range/R2H fighters who can inflict a 22 on you at combat 55 , while you are dishing out those 13s with addys. Even if you use fire blast its only a 16 and ranger equipment is not very compatible with blasting. Good luck in whatever you chose. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Work for 2 hours, get membership card from target, buy yourself some coke and rent a movie and train in members? You will definitely get the hours back. Or better, get a job, work 3 hours a week, study hard, go dance, learn to drive, help your parents out during this economic times and play Runescape in 15-18 months? Or even better, instead of taking someone else's job, why not volunteer your time to your community instead of to a game? Get some community hours, make some new delinquent friends, join NHS, make a speech about what you learned while serving your community. So I guess since he doesn't have time, he should waste even more time by playing free? In Members things get done 3X faster, he wants to train a pure from scratch. That's at least 150 hours of training and money making. ( In members it can get done 3x faster, it would take only 50 hours) Thus he saved 98 hours, just by working 2 hours. This is not about his logic, this is about helping him with the account he wants. For cash u can kill hill giants (once u get higher range), kill cows and sell their hide(easy to kill now). I heard minotaurs are good for power exping around lvl 20. I dont think elemental mages are a good source of runes proberly be better to kill cows for cash and buy the runes. When to kill them? Yeah. 40 range. They drop arrows *Any monsters/npc with good drops? Stick with things in the SoS. Second, do not get magic. Yeah, its faster mmovement, but you will regret it. It raises lvls too much, and offensive magic in f2p is useless. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. It looks fine and getting magic experience shouldnt be a problem as long as you get it through means that dont raise hp levels.
