Training Range (80-85)

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a quick way to train ranged to 85 from 80 without chinning(red).

I'm currently ranging yaks in void with bronze knives.

Thanks in advance. ::'

Aviansies, should make you a nice 10m on the way. Mind you it is slower than your current training method.

Trust the Gene Genie!

Yaks are your best bet.

However upgrade to iron knives and make sure you have ava accumulator on.

Iron knives are far more cost effective to the gp

Bronze are 15gp ea

Iron are 35gp ea

However:

Iron are lost to "breakage" half as often so 1k iron (costing 35k) last the same amount of xp as 2k Bronze (30k)

Factor in iron max hit is a fair chunk higher than bronze and it means that you can kill 2 - 3 yaks in the time it takes to kill 1 with bronze

Also iron drops to the ground less often (the accumulator picks them up more it seems) meaning you again get extra longevity

With all 3 factors in iron knives end up working out to be faster and cheaper as with the less breakage and better auto pick ups I find you can last up to 3 times longer with iron. Which would work out to 1k iron = 3k bronzes which means 35k or 45k. Plus with the iron you kill the yaks far faster which means more xp per knife

I'm not a member but does the accumulator also pick up iron? I thought only steel :-#

The Attractor and Accumulator FIND random iron (attractor) and steel (accumulator) as you wander around. However BOTH pick up most of your ranged ammo when ranging, as long as u are not behind something. Obviously the accumulator does this better.

eg at yaks you can throw 5 knives (any metal) but the nubmer your wielding will only go down by 2 as it will automatically pick 3 back up and the other 2 will either be lost to breakage or drop to the floor

Keep training at Yaks. They are the fastest way to level up (other than chins), even though they are boring and don't drop anything good.

Best Drops: 1 d skirt, 1 whip in party room, 1 robin hood hat (lvl 3 clue), 1 sara bracer (lvl 3 clue), 2 zamorak pages (page 1 and 3), 1 guthix page (page 3)
