How PvP protect itens works???

I was doing pvp trick and got a onyx bracelet from drops...

 

When i did my kills i teled to canifis, cause nobody stay there, but when i arrived there was 6 clawers/ancients in the pub...

 

When i saw them i putted protect item on, to save my SS when i die...well they killed me way too fast but i turned it on.

 

 

 

When i went to falador as respawn i opened my inventory and i saw onyx bracelet there, i LOST MY SS!! I'm so nervous about this!

 

 

 

I need to now how works protect item on PvP, since i just lost 8m and saved a 400k item -.-

 

 

 

Can someone explain that to me? Cause i really wanna know how do i lose a 8m item for one that worths 400k :x

Alch value of onyx brace > SS. That stinks, though.

 

 

 

(Cue angry rant about how market value should determine items kept, not alch value. There's 100's of them in rants already, Jagex hasn't gotten around to changing it and it would be a pain with non tradable quest items.)

As said above, works on alch value.

 

 

 

Never tele to canafis, its a very busy pub at times, lumbridge or home teleport are the best to use.

When I get a drop, I pick the damn thing up, Home Tele and LOG OUT!!! And then log back in on Non PVP world.

You could have dropped the bracelet die, bank then tele'd back there and picked it up. Died again and banked it.

 

 

 

The protect item/death items were never changed when the GE can out. They still work on the old system of valuing items, the high alch value.

 

 

 

I'm betting its on Jagex's to-do list, but they have to balance it so that your kept on death items don't change every other day.

This. People don't realize the power of dropping. Almost any major PKing area can be gotten to in under a minute. Heck, I'd have a beautiful pair of dragon claws and possibly bandos if I had remembered dropping.

Yeah, dropping is definitely powerful -- I very often will do it. Just be careful with the barrows armour, cause you won't be able to drop that unless you're really really fast.

 

 

 

But yeah, its always worked on alch values. You gotta be careful, sara sword has only a 75k alch value (well around there, thats not exact) -- rune halberds, karil's crossbow, dragon skirts, onyx bracelets -- all of those protect over it.

 

 

 

It works this way in non-PvP worlds too so don't blame it on PvP >.>

Don't use a sara sword for pvp ever again. There is no bonus whatsoever to having a sara sword instead of a whip and dds(except for the pray bonus I guess, but technically you could take an unholy book witht he more sensible options).
