Verac's flail is much more powerful and yet even that is considered far inferior to the conventional ss/z spear. Z spear trains controlled, Saradomin sword trains strength. If you want pure defence xp it'd be Verac's flail or obby mace+berserker (I think). Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

February 22, 200917 yr Just use the spear, its only one task then you can be back to def training. The spear or ss kills them fast, the extra time you waste using subpar weapons for the job will offset the def exp you will get on the task.
