Lep
For some reason my videos will either have the High Quality option and sometimes it won't. This thread isn't about High Quality but I'd also like to know why it sometimes has the option to play the video like that and other times it doesn't. I'm curious about HD. I always record videos with the full version of Fraps and I make the video in Windows Movie Maker and publish it as the default settings. Here are pictures and pictures of how I record in Fraps. How do I get HD for Youtube? (I read that you need at least 1280x720 or something resolution, but mine is much higher) [hide=Images] [/hide]
InkofDeath
With Vista go into WMM, when you publish, save the video as 'Windows Media HD 720', res is 1280x720. Will increase clarity if resolution matches. Here's a FRAPS guide I wrote: http://www.wogl.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1420 Go down to the bottom post where my name is (InkofDeath) you'll notice the avatar. Then substitute the thing for Windows Media HD 720p for the codec and what I've explained above. Gl.
Sbrideau
Too bad WMM keeps crashing on me :x
Georgelemmons
The main thing is that the display ratio must be exactly 16:9. If it's over the minimum resolution, but the ratio isn't 16:9, Youtube will compress it into oblivion. Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <

So basically I change my desktop resolution to 1280x720 and when I publish the movie in WMM I publish it as Windows Media HD 720 and with an aspect ratio of 16:9? (I've never noticed that option but I'll look next time) Also, do you know why sometimes I get high quality videos and sometimes I don't on Youtube? It doesn't really bother me, but a few days ago I uploaded something that was JUST the recorded video from Fraps with no anything added in WMM, and it had no high quality. Seems odd to me. :|
MageUK
Make sure you give Youtube time to process the video. Although the video appears fairly fast at standard def, the HQ and HD options do not appear for sometimes a few hours while it re-encodes them.
