Do metal drags use only dragonbreath if not in melee range?

Featured Replies

Yes, they only use their dragon-fire when you range/mage them. And they use both when you melee them. And is it just me, or do they know when your anti-fire potion runs out? -.-

if you mage them from behind a stalagmite, Taverly dungeon blue dragons at least :? , they do not attack back with flame-breath

i killed 200+ in full Ahrims, no anti fires or shield or prayers and only lost hp when I moved through lagging mouse

they same may apply to other dragons/locations, but I'm not 100% sure

Do not fear Death. Death is always at our side. When we show fear, it jumps at us faster than light. But, if we do not show fear, it casts its eye upon us gently and then guides us into infinity...

metal dragons are bronze, iron, steel and mithril dragons not blue green red or black dragons

ontopic: They will only use the dragonbreath attack.. Remember to take antifire potions + antifire shield or dfs and you wont take any damage.

I was pointing out, that if you can position a stalagmite between you and the dragon (normal or metallic) I don't think they're able to use flame-breath at all, and you can still mage them :wall:

Of course the simple answer to stop the damage is two of these, mage protect, anti-fire shield or anti-fire potion

There's no stalagmites in Iron Dragon's area...and you can't safespot ranged breath attacks...

like I said previously you could in taverly (before HD), and i haven't fought metallic dragons in a while so forgot the area's layout

but anyway, a shield and anti-fire's your good to go anyway

Bronze, iron and steel will only attack with dragon breath when you're out of melee range. Mithril dragons on the other hand will attack with magic, range and dragon breath when out of melee range, and magic, melee and dragon breath when in melee range. KBD will attack with his breath attacks, which act a bit differently then metal drags as long as you're in the room. And "normal" drags can only use dragon breath as a melee weapon.

normal dragons can melee/dragon breath close range, only dragon breath long range

and metal drags like bronze/iron will use a mixture in close range, melee/dragon breath unless they changed that as well

LOL, I know what you mean. Seems like they don't use it UNTIL potion runs out. Ha Ha. ::'

Normal dragons don't have a range breath attack, only when you're near them. So if they can melee you, they can breath on you. The stalagmites have nothing to do with them not being able to breath attack you.
