Some Circus Info

Recommended Posts

By the way, I keep saying "we" because acenator has been a great help lately, and has done some big contributions, especially working out the points for the events. He deserves some credit too. ;)

And welcome to the team, Pokemama! I was almost afraid it would end up being just me and Mattie and, sometimes, Frigginacky (as I'm sure Mattie was afraid he might end up doing everything alone before I joined in).

Yes, there is a slowly growing group of people who are regularly contributing to the research. And I would be very happy if you would help us. However, I was under the impression that you like to gain exp. This is fine, and you can still contribute by submitting a description of the things you did in your performace, and how many points you got.

If you are willing to give up your exp, I can give you instructions each week of what to do (usually a set of emotes).

Also, if possible, don't wear anything at all on you. I now realise that there may be some non-circus-given-out items that could affect the points if worn. (Probably why you got an extra point before.)

Either way, thanks again for supporting this research.

I can certainly record my exact moves and PM you the results for points. If that's acceptable (and usable for you) then I'll do that, since we'll both be able to get something out of it.

If that's not usable for your research, then I'll take the instructions and do what you want...until...whenever I want to stop, I guess.

Just let me know!

Sorry I'm a bit late getting back to you. #-o

I think this is the best idea. While we're not directly finding out exactly what we want, as long as the description is accurate, we should be able to break down exactly what gave which points, and if there are any irreguluarities, this could lead to the discovery of a preferred trick/emote.

Remember the order in which you do things is important, as well as exactly what emote you did, so as much info as possible would be appreciated!

Thanks again.

P.S Post your results in this thread, and use the format suggested.

Thanks for the reply! If there is something specific you want me to try or a specific combination, I'd be willing to try that, too. I think I saw something about the circus giving notice of experience points or something...I'll be as thorough in my reports as possible and if necessary, take screenshots (if you need those). If I do take the shots, I'd like to clean them out after a day or two, so get back to me when you've seen them (that is, if you even want me to take the shots in the first place!).

EDIT: below is a DETAILED account of my trip this week, but I will reformat and post in the suggested thread and just wanted to have this information available somewhere

Thanks for that, SportsGuy!

I have looked at what you did and found a few things that I am about to send to Mattie via PM. If you want me to send you a copy of the same message, just say so.

Just so you know, if you're going for exp, you should do one trick of each level in each event to maximise exp (if you fail a trick, it won't give exp for trying again and succeeding and you only get exp from one trick of each level; for more info, check out this thread).

Also, if you could, it would be very helpful if you put the level of each trick in your descriptions (we can look them up on the tip.it main page each week if we have to, but I would prefer not to and I would assume that Mattie would agree).

Thanks again!!

Yea I would prefer this if you don't mind.

Just a clarification:

10)emote - Bunny-hop (enjoyed) audience silent

magic exp. - 1,371,320 - cast levitate ork 1,373,526

Was this a succeed? In all of the other tricks, you stated whether it was successful or not.

In case you were wondering, you helped narrow down most likely a preferred trick in the ranged performance, and highlighted some unclear areas that we need to work on.

Thanks again! :D

Both of you are INCREDIBLY nice to help me out.

Sorry about the inconsistency. I wasn't quite sure if it succeeded or not (I suppose) because it was the last one. I thought perhaps that the bonus may have come from finishing the routine. I'm still not sure about it, but when I think about it, the ork DID levitate, so it must have succeeded.

I will be going back (though, as you mentioned, the levels can be figured out) and putting the correct levels in for the spells and moves outside the ranging event.

I can continue to be thorough if you'd like OR I'll just submit what you asked for...whichever is most helpful. I don't mind being careful and observant, especially to such nice people!

...and thanks for the PM to Mattie, acenator! That saves me some work! So nice of you! Thank you thank you thank you!

It doesn't have nearly the kind of detail that the folks here are working on. Whether the research here is necessary or not could be up for debate, but not the level of information. The folks here are working out more exact measures for players of all skill levels.

Thanks very much for all of your hard work! I've added everything that you were sure on, and credited you and everyone who helped you. I'm closing this thread, but please feel free to post again if you validate any of your information or make new discoveries.
