Ah, Sly Wizard.

Everything you post is either full of blatant strawmen, you calling a logical fallacy where it doesn't apply (therefore strawman), or just pure rhetoric.

Finally someone else that understand logical thinking and philosophy in general.

Sly Wizard understands it, in fact I think he has a degree in it, which makes it worse because it shows that he deliberately misrepresents the opposition positions/refuses to listen to the actual arguments.

Hey.

There were many stories in the bible that never happened. Dreams, parables, crucifixion of christ.

jesus was decidedly crucified, its a consensus that Jesus existed and preached something close to what ended up in the gospel, the philosophical debate is whether or not he was the son of god/messiah.

Are you sure about that consensus?

The romans documented the existence of a man who claimed to be the son of god. (Not in those exact words) Who knows if it's true though. I saw it on the history channel but I can't provide evidence to back up the claim.

Actually, if you read the article, only FOUR historians have ever mentioned anything about the existence of someone named Jesus and each of them were only a few sentences each. Hardly the massive amounts of literature that were written by the "authors" of the bible.

The best part is when they call their fight against homosexuality a rainbow coalition of love.

Another interesting point is that most republicans don't look like that, they most likely couldn't find non-fat republicans and had to use actors.

You're clearly an intellectual.

Are you seriously calling all republicans fat?? If so go to one of the tea parties... I'm going. Although you may think were all fat.. were not.

Just wanted to clear that up.

You're not so innocent yourself. As a matter of fact, I've never seen anyone who is a perfect debater. It's just not humanly natural.

Gov. David A. Paterson will announce on Thursday plans to introduce legislation to legalize same-sex marriage, according to people with knowledge of the governors plans.

Mr. Patersons move, which he first signaled last week after Vermont became the fourth state to allow gay and lesbian couples to wed, reflects the governors desire to press the issue with lawmakers in Albany as other states move ahead with efforts to grant more civil rights to homosexuals.

The action in Vermont, where state legislators overrode Gov. Jim Douglass veto of a bill legalizing same-sex marriage, came less than a week after the Iowa Supreme Court granted same-sex couples the right to marry.

I doubt it will pass in the New York Senate, but it's worth a try, hey?

Just the fact that it's being introduced means progress is being made. Crossing my fingers. ::'

Just wanted to clear that up.

You are going to a party that incorrectly compares the boston tea party which was taxation without representation and a monopoly on a trade market to a 3 percent increase of taxes on only 3 percent of the citizens.

you have representation in the congress, republicans happened to lose control. How dumb can republicans be?

because clearly protesting spending makes you fat

Secondly, the tea parties are about the government getting involved where it "shouldnt" such as bailing out banks that "should" be allowed to fail. Its not just a complaint against a tax increase, referencing the tea party is symbolic not literal.

The symbolism isn't there. You are sending packets of tea to politicians, and trying to dump it into the boston harbor (which the cops stopped). You are trying your best to make any connection to barrack "hussein" obama's communist tax policy to the overlords of 1773. And when anybody calls you out that there is no real connection you fall back on symbolism.

But hey I'll look at it like this. It's kinda funny that they are out protesting taxes while I the barack obama supporter is at work paying them.

Hit the nail on the head, Not just things like spending, but a ban on dirtbike and ATV sales for kids under the age of 13 because they are afraid they are going to lick a gear box and aged lead poisoning. I remember when I had my dirkbike and was ten. After a nice ride, I would go home, take my helmet off, and give the box a good licken. Nothing could be better.

I put the "" there for a reason, Im not here to debate political policy. Secondly, I still fail to see how protesting government spending makes you fat. I suggest you avoid strawmen, I never suggested Obama whos middle name I care about was a communist, I havent sent tea to anyone, and the symbolism is quite there. No taxation without representation was a complaint about government not looking out for the people; whether or not you agree with the position, the protestors believe government is out of touch and not working for everyone hence the reference to the tea party.

On topic, good to see more states are passing same sex marriage
