Just a little idea

make it so only mods can post RS news

because people have competitions to see who posts it first then there is usually 2/3 made and 2 get locked and waste space in general forums

It doesn't make enough of a difference to make a rule worth enforcing.

It would make more sense to allow crewbies to post, but tbh, if you only let staff post, even they may post 2 at once or not notice an update for several hours.(busy people they are)

It's not that big a problem at the moment anyhow, they usually get deleted.

I feel it is fine as it is, though would just rather people looked to make sure someone else has not posted it before posting it themselves.

Sometimes it is difficult to see, I remember I did it once, and I "thought" I looked pretty thoroughly.

It's not needed.

There's no Guarantee that a member of staff would be on at the time of the update. If multiple topics do get created then the others will get locked leaving just one topic.

This reminds me of a rule that lasted a week, a while back where the discussion thread was moved to RS News. It didn't last long.

I think it is fine as is right now. :)

Thanks to cowboy14 for the pimp sig!

Common sense is a rule that should be enforced.

In most cases, the multiple topics can get merged into one so it's not really a loss. Granted there aren't spammy replies.
