Earpy
Hey guys. I'm currently trying to create a partition of my hard drive so that I am able to install a second OS. However, when I try and shrink my hard drive, it only lets me create a new partition with 23MB of space. I have over 100GB free on my hard drive, so I cannot understand why it wont let me use this space for a new partition. I am using Windows Vista 32-bit. Also, I have ran the 'Disk Defragmenter' and it made no difference. Thanks in advance for any help, Earpy.
JoeDaStudd
Try Gparted live CD. The trouble is the the OS and files will be split along the harddrive so they all need moving into the same section before you can partition it. Which will take a while either way. JoeDaStudd
Gpart is a live CD which you can use to partition harddrives its not a OS in the sense of the word. Yes installing OSX on a non-mac is illegal last time I checked. Mil
Try a few things first: Defragment the hard drive (I recommend Auslogics --> http://www.auslogics.com/en/) Delete any recovery/backup files if you want, may have some affect. However, I tried both of these on an old Vista laptop, only giving me an extra gigabyte to partition :|
