de_jean
I'm taking the time to write this short rant because I am currently unable to play runescape. Why you ask? Some add makes it impossible to log in, even on the low game type. It's not the first time and i'm getting a bit sick of it. With most of the adds you can just right click on them and make them stop playing and/or put them on low quality. This particularly nasty little fellahowever cannot be eliminated this way. Does anyone have an idea on how i could make that add disappear? And no, I'm not getting p2p just to make an add go away. I'm the ultimate prayer noob. Karvinen
I have reported one 100% cpu hogging ad to Lagex and all I got was auto response: "Unfortunately, due to the massive growth in popularity of Runescape and the increasing number of queries that brings, we have not been able to keep up, and are not able to offer a personal response this time..." lcandy
There are adds on the front pages though, right? Maybe he meant one of those?
insane
There are adds on the front pages though, right? Maybe he meant one of those? Possibly, but if his/her computer is going to get "100% lagged" from a webpage and an ad, then it's going to get lagged from actually playing the game ad-free - or the game with any minor ad. I also believe that the ads on the main page are the same as ingame? At least the top, horizontally-spaced ones anyways.
lcandy
I dunno, I don't ever see adds, I used noscript for firefox. What I did notice though, sometimes firefox would go up to 100% on some pages, like there was an error processing one of the scripts. I never had this playing runescape (when I used to be f2p and have adds), but maybe there is a bad add in there somewhere that conflicts with firefox or IE? Perhaps you need to check for updates on your system and browser? Alternatively, use noscript plugin :D

You dont gets ads when on member servers however. So his game shold not be lagging. Sounds like a rant and nothing more. Karvinen
The ad makes me unable to play without trickery. I click the play game link and nothing happens because the ad already uses all the cpu power. The ad doesn't limit cpu usage, so it uses 100% in any computer. Olgath
I use AdBlock extension for firefox and have blocked out most of the ads. I even went one further and blocked out the entire ad-frame along with it.
Juhnie
I use AdBlock extension for firefox and have blocked out most of the ads. I even went one further and blocked out the entire ad-frame along with it. Why no-one reads the rules? I've submitted 6 Advert Complaints: 4 for an advertisement of a travelling company, which kept (almost literally) killing the game every 15 seconds. This advert has been removed. 2 for an advertisement of Ifolor company, about making your digital photos into real photos. Keeps lagging the game all the time, even on low detail. This has not yet been removed. What annoys me most is that to 5 out of these 6 complaints, I have received an automatic response. Last one looked handwritten, though.. Made me a bit more happy. : AND SORRY FOR BUMPIN' THE TOPIC. >:P Didn't look at the post date.
