OldJoe
Yeah I remember the day when AMD just beat the [cabbage] out of intel on performance. These days it's intel or bust for me. :P Yep hehe. But AMD in my mind, has the best low&mid price range. Look at their new dual core they've launched: For 102$ you get; 3.1ghz, unlocked multiplier, 2mb l2 cache&6mb l3 cache, support for both AM2+ and AM3 platform aswell as DDR2/3. And the Phenom 2 x4 cpu's are really price worthy (we'll see how they stack up to I5 in autumn when full tests are possible). They've said that they won't compete in the high segment until 2011 (if i remember correct), and there's no point launching such a segment now anyways as that segment doesn't count for much of the income and with the financial crisis currently. Oh and, i finally switched mobiles lol. I bought Sony-Ericsson T220(i think?) in february 04 or so, and i switched mobile this week lol (got my sis Nokia 7600 for free (which she hasn't used much)). The sound gave up a week ago, but then came back... Then it was gone again lol. It's survived youghurt, tarmack, granite, water (dropping into) lol. I've had to the tape the back of it so the "hatch" doesn't fall off, and the screen aswell - it will otherwise fall off. Oh and Kaphias, i remember we had that mac:P J'adore aussi le sexe et les snuff moviesJe trouve que ce sont des purs moments de vieJe ne me reconnais plus dans les gensJe suis juste un cas désespérantEt comme personne ne viendra me réclamerJe terminerai comme un objet retrouvé
rune01
hi, my favourite computer is the one i customised. it only has 4GB of ram but what i'm happy about it is its case and power supply. the case is made of a huge and heavy rack server style which only houses 1 motherboard, so there is plenty of room inside, i have it for 4 years now and its still going, never had a breakdown. i like my toshiba laptop as well, its an A300 satellite, never goes hot at all, very well designed cooling system. If you like a cheap one, acer laptop is good.
The Runar
Aha yes, i guess you have a Pentium cpu on that computer. The ghz on that cpu were bumped so high just because of the "mhz crazyness" and that the Intel techs didn't really bother about the data having to travel further - thus slower. Athlon XP cpus at much lower mhz performed same/better than the Pentium ones. It was an Intel processor I think, but certainly not a Pentium. Either an Xeon (unlikely), Pentium or a Celeron.
