I'm stuck between my current build and my lil AAO. My current build does all I could want, but my AAO is so cute, dinky and nippy.

Mine would be my Asus notebook for its extreme quality, compared to what I had before. Even if it's not the greatest specs for a laptop, since it's a few years old, it perfectly does the job. Anyway I still have my "recycled" hp media center desktop that I use for games and such.

An old Amiga i got in 93 or so from my brother. I think it might been the 500, but i'm not sure. Unfortunately my dad threw it away a few years ago. But i remember i spent alot of time on it, damn good machine. I played some sort of a flight-simulator which i think was during the first world war, a Lemmings game (ahahaha the memories!), some car game and a couple of others (i know i played more, but don't remember them).

Because I hate the old ones with a passion.

So far my aluminium MacBook, but it may be too early to tell, as I got it ~3 months ago. I hated my old HP laptop and I regret buying it because of weight, heat dissipation, poor battery life (and a poorly made battery on top of that; it didn't last long (as in, over a period of time, not time per each charge) and it was recalled), and driver issues.

I'd have to say either my Dell XPS 630 (desktop) or Dell XPS M1330 (laptop).

 

 

 

The desktop is a beast. The laptop is powerful, lightweight, and has great battery life (plus it's awesome to carry it down and hook it up via HDMI and watch internet shows on the big screen).

As of recently, obviously, my laptop. The thing is a [bleep]ing beast -- something one wouldn't expect from a company like Gateway. But honestly any laptop that can run Crysis at Medium/High settings at a solid FPS is good in my book, even better when you look at the price I got it for ($1,100. A sale at best buy none the less)

 

 

 

So yeah, it's pretty odd (lol buying a gateway laptop at best buy, and the thing is a BEAST and cheap? wtf) but I love the thing.

The computer I'm using to type this sentence. Cost me £320 (March last year), pretty good specs (would go into detail, but no-one would care). Can solidly play most games nowadays, a lot of them on high quality settings (except Crysis, which it plays on medium, can play on high, but lags a lot). Suffice to say, it's pretty good for what it is and how much I bought it for.

My current desktop. I got it and everything I upgraded it with for free when my grandparents' business got rid of 3 very similar computers and a motherboard (I'm not sure why they had a motherboard lying around, but I got a free graphics card and a replacement cpu fan (the original one quit last summer) out of it, so I'm happy :lol: ) a few years ago.

 

 

 

It might only have a 2.2 GHz processor, 1 gb RAM and an 80 gig hd, but it's the best and most reliable computer I've ever had (I just have to be careful while playing RS on HD because it can make it overheat whenever it gets hot (75+ degrees farenheit) out 8-) ).

 

 

 

Hopefully I'll be getting some more computers from my grandparents in the near future. It's fun to go through a computer and see what it has and if there's anything I can do to make it better and I really don't know how long this one will last (I assume that the cpu and/or motherboard can just die over time since I have (multiple) spares of everything except for those (I have like 10 80 gig hard drives, ~5 power supplies, several extra cpu fans, dozens of cd drives, and several extra 512mb sticks of RAM) :lol: ).

My favourite PC was the first one I ever built at 11 years old.

 

 

 

Pentium III, 128MB RAM, 40GB Maxtor IDE HDD, Radeon 9000 and some old AsRock motherboard. I even managed to get XP running well on it. The thing lasted about two years until one day the CPU just finally gave in. I don't have it anymore - most of the other parts have been swapped out into quick builds for the rest of my family.

 

 

 

I had a PC before that, but it was really a nasty piece of work. We got it in 1999, and it struggled to run Windows 98 even back then.

It doesn't happen very often (it pretty much requires that I max out my cpu on something with high definition for at least an hour (if I want to ply RSHD for any length of time, I generally have to take a side panel off so it doesn't overheat)), but it has happened.

AMD Athlon XP 2700+, MMX, 3DNow, 2.16 ghz

 

 

 

My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, if that makes a difference (it has a heatsink on it, so I'm guessing it contributes to the overheating).

I once had a Packard Bell PC which ran Windows 95, that was pretty bad. So, my favourite is the one I have now, a custom build which I did myself, and I just change the parts individually over time. Unless I feel the need to get a laptop at some point, I'll probably never have a standard pre-built computer again. Anyway, it's a much better experience if you can customise the computer to the exact specifications that you want, and it gives a nice personal touch.

Hmm..don't really think I've had a favorite computer because all of the ones I've used completely suck.

 

 

 

The one I own now blows completely - way too slow and barely plays SD RS.

 

The HP laptop we have is slowly dieing and even when it was working fine, it had it's graphical problems. Now it's HDD is about to kick the bucket.

 

Our iMac (the newer ones) has it's problems, too. No evident troubleshooting problems whenever a program freezes up on you and start up time could be better.

 

 

 

Once I get on my own, I plan on buying an ASUS laptop or something of the sort.

My most favorite computer (and the all time greatest) has to be my G3 Pismo. As far as awesome goes, there is no comparison.

 

 

 

I also really like my Acer Aspire One. Great little computer.

I've had two very nice computers.

 

 

 

1) An old computer from 1990. Don't know about CPU or RAM, but hard disk was 256 MB. That's a lot of space for good old games. And it ran Windows 3.11 :thumbsup:

 

 

 

2) A Windows XP computer from 2003. 2.8 GHz CPU and 256 MB RAM. 40 GB hard disk. It was damn slow (didn't run RS properly on low detail...) but still good. Basically every single 3D game was unplayable, Enemy Territory ran at 10 FPS max for example. Well, at least it ran The Sims (almost) without lag ;) It took like 5 minutes to boot, that's pretty slow for a 2.8 GHz machine... But it never crashed or anything. XP rules.

Aha yes, i guess you have a Pentium cpu on that computer. The ghz on that cpu were bumped so high just because of the "mhz crazyness" and that the Intel techs didn't really bother about the data having to travel further - thus slower. Athlon XP cpus at much lower mhz performed same/better than the Pentium ones.
