Console Hardware Mods

Featured Replies

Not sure which forum this one goes in lol.

Anyway, easy-ish question here. I was wondering if it would be possible in any way to mod, for an example, a PS2 Controller into a controller that plugs into the GameCube port for the Wii? (Or a Gamecube controller to port to the PS3 etc etc)

Other possible ways like that etc.

Any links on how to do this?

I kinda wanna do it myself. For luls and testing abilities etc.

If I cant do it I'll get a guy I know to :P

Thanks..

I dont need a siggy no moar.

You'll probably get a better answer in Games and Consoles. Topic moved.

Offline and unavailable.

Every time I look up PS2 controllers to Wii ports I get how to save gamecube games onto SD cards for some reason

Unless your extremely advanced with this kind of stuff, it's not possible.

Although there is a $70 adapter that lets you plug PS2 controllers into any USB slot (including Xbox 360), and it does work on the 360. I forget what it's called though

Lmao.

I kinda wanted the joy of making a Playstation 2 Controller plug DIRECTLY into a Wii's GameCube slot, and being able to tell people I did it :(

Leave this open for other peoples mods possibly?

I highly doubt it's even possible unless you gutted a Gamecube and PS2 controller and put the Gamecube "guts" into the PS2 controller.

Seems possible. :geek:

Either that or just the 'board thing, replace the PS2 one with a GC one.

=P~

I remember seeing an adapter for an PS2-Xbox controller a few years ago.

I doubt you'd be able to get a PS2 into a Wii though due to the "pin" configuration of the PS2.

It might be possible to get some kind of PS2 add on like an extension lead or something the controller fitted into and somehow wire in a gamecube lead.

Only other way I can think of would to be to

1. Buy a wireless gamecube controller and set it up with the Wii

2. Buy a wireless PS2 controller (which wouldn't be sony, and probably rubbish) and somehow change the frequency of the reciever to the PS2 controller.

In any case I doubt its worth the time or effort.

Well even if you managed to correctly connect a Gamecube plug onto a PS2 controller (I guess the only way to figure out if you did it right is if it gave it power), I highly doubt the controls would be mapped right. If they even worked at all.

There's an adapter which basically makes a PS2 controller portable to gamecube, and the buttons work fine.

Then why did you make this thread?
