If I join the military, then college will be smooth sailing.

Thinking again about the Coast Guard, and more recently, a tank driver.

Not saying you gotta join the military, but I have yet to meet a person who went to college and never had a problem with the system.

Well, Im not joining it for "help in the system", just on the financial side of it and protecting our country. My family has a long history of duty in the military, I feel it's honorable to continue it.

I swear I would go guard if I didn't think I'd get sent overseas, just for the school benefits and physical fitness and self confidence

To be honest, being a tank driver is probably the best, and safest, coming up on Air Force, but that's hella hard to get into.

My view on college is this. You pay an assload of money for teachers, who apparently do very little to help you. You learn one field, get out of college, work a [cabbage]ty job until you find one in your field, inevitably there is someone else in the same boat as you. You don't stand out. YOu are run of the mill. You are destined to be average the rest of your life.

 

Really, whats gonna happen when literally EVERYONE has a college degree of some sort? You just spend a [cabbage]load of money to be the same as everybody else. Just sayin'.

 

On the tank note, I've been told tank people almost always end up with hearing problems, even with hearing protection.

^ exactly. People now think everyone needs a degree. For example, at Target here, they found bs reasons to fire the managers ("team leaders") and hired new ones, fresh out of college, basically just because they had degrees. One girl had a degree in Spanish and she is basically a retail floor manager. Makes no sense.

 

There aren't enough college degree jobs for everyone, so now they're making it standard. Not everyone is college material anyway, but there's so much pressure now.

EXACTLY! Everyone is always like "OH YA GOTTA GO TO COLLEGE TO GET A GREAT JOB!" - THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY NEVER GET!

I really do not give a [cabbage] about college. I just want to live my live the way I want to live it. Hell I might not even go.

Just like what my mom and brother did. Hell look at my brother, been in movies, although not important rolls, met famous actors, and now works at Victoria secrets with his hot Russian girlfriend. Pretty damn successful to me, and college wasn't even part of the equation.

I wouldn't wanna work in victoria secret. But all that other stuff sounds gewd.
