How are we more emotionally developed. Elephants mourn their dead, they don't become depressed when they kill a lion attacking them though.

I think PTSD is more our society's fault than warfare's. Men used to literally hack each other limb from limb, and live on fine, but today, we shoot a person from 100 yards and we're scarred for life.

Also, when it comes down to it, killing a human being is no different than killing any other animal, we just try to make ourselves special.

We can feel empathy for other humans, which doesn't happen with animals. It's not as much that we try to make ourselves special, rather than it's actually engraved in our subconciousness. Dehumanizing people you kill is simply a mechanism to overpass this.

I'm actually interested to see if animals do feel empathy for other animals. Like would a chimpanzee, if it knew how save another chimpanzee or a human being? If it was more emotionally attached to the human would it save said human over the chimp? Also I think we do still try to make ourselves special, we always talk about human rights, and the value of human life. There is absolutely nothing more valuable about a human life than any other life, and the only right you are guaranteed by is the right to pursue survival.

Dolphins have saved humans, same with dogs and cats.

But there was probably never another animal of their species in equal danger. That's what I'm interested to see.

It's one of those things that is hard to test. I don't think pretending to be in danger will fool a dog, for example, so you would have to actually endanger yourseld and an animal of the same species just to run the test. It would be interesting, though.

Dolphins have tried to save their own kind from poachers.

You see it with birds all the time, they will gang up on an eagle, hawk, or osprey to try and scare it away from their nests or the general area.

I would say that animals of their own species do in fact protect or try to save one another in danger.

On the topic of dolphins, males are known to kill smaller animals to vent off frustration from failure to mate, or something among those lines.

That would be interesting. Perhaps they already are testing this.

@ Napalm, that's interesting I've never heard that.

@halo Another example is that, whenever airplanes fly over, elephants have been observed trying to hide the ones with larger tusks, who would be more likely poached for their ivory.

I always loved seeing hordes of ants take on bigger bugs like cockroaches and crickets. I admire their teamwork capacity. I should probably play pikmin.

Tyler, can you explain this? I'm quite lost on it.

In harry potter a patronus is sort of supposed to represent you.

Oh also, my brother had rented brink. It seemed a lot like TF2 from what I'd heard of TF2.

It's not like TF2 at all.

Just saying.

Like I said, my understanding of TF2 is very minimal, the classes seemed the same and gameplay did too.

@napalm I guess it's kinda like if your "soul" could take a physical form, thats what your patronus is.

I understand it.

His mother is fat, so her patronus, which is supposed to represent what you are, is a cake because she is fat.

I would post a story now about how I'm playing minecraft or xbox live or streaming a movie for my online friends or something, but all I've got is more stories about flippping small children.

My 13 yr old sister and three of her neighborhood friends ages 13, 10, and 9 are setting up a tent in my backyard. They plan on sleeping in it tonight, so they put it under the tree in case it rains. It's a 3 man tent, so pretty small. My mom is out of state this weekend, I'm not sleeping at home tonight since I never do on the weekends, and my brother hates my sister to the point that he walked off last night twice, disappearing for hours with his phone turned off. I texted my mom to see if they have permission to have their little party in the backyard and she just said yeah it's okay as long as they clean up, and she also mentioned that she sprained her ankle last night but she's still having fun.

Want to know why I spend time posting here? Here, I'll put it in hide tags since I know you don't care but I'm posting it anyway.
