tyler is unfamiliar with the concept of leveling a surface.

If they leveled the hill in front of my house, whatever they built would be below me, not in front of me.

My house is several feet off the ground, there is a sidewalk in front of it. Note i say in front of it, not under it. My basement is under my house.

There's two stories between where they'd level the hill and where my house sits. I'd say that's under more than in front of.

For me to consider it to be under something, Object b has to have at least some area overlapping the area covered by object a, with object b at a lower height.

 

So unless they built whatever into the hill beneath your house, it would be in front of your house.
