So about 15 minutes ago I take it upon myself to solve this problem. I walk over to the Rite-Aid in town with my wallet and one of those bags with rope shoulder straps. I decide on what I want and head for the counter. What should I find, but the scourge of all condom-buying expeditions, a sweet little old lady buying chex mix. not deterred, and determined to follow my original plan to play it cool, I stride up to the counter, casually hiding the box behind my leg and baggy shorts. On the lookout for the dreaded worst-case-scenario, I casually glance around to make sure there is no one I know, god forbid relatives. And what do I see coming in line behind me? A family with a tweener boy (who actually looked suspiciously like what I remember Monk looking like). Well now I cant really hide them so I just kind of stand there hoping no one notices what I'm holding. The lady finishes up and the moment of truth comes. I already have my money out, so I set the box on the counter money and all, and wait for a worst case reaction. Luckily, the guy just rang it up and bagged it like food at a grocery store, gave me my change, I put the bagged box in my bag and left. All in all it wasn't as embarrassing as I thought it might be, but I did have a minor "aww [cabbage]" moment when I was stuck between an old lady and a family.

I know the store owners probably don't care, they're probably just happy I'm bringing them business. What I was worried about was a cashier that is like barely older than you, and gives you a look or makes it all awkward. Also I didn't want to end up in between a bunch of old people who for some reason it's ingrained in us to shield, even though they've probably done way crazier [cabbage] than I have. I think the reason it is embarrassing is because for that short period of time where everyone can see what you're buying, it's kind of like your personal life is out there for the world to see. All-in-all, like I said, it wasn't as terrible as I had envisioned it. But seriously, had my relatives been there I would have tried to hide, and if caught just bought advil or allergy medicine.

 

Also on the note of itching, I got a bug bite or something on the knuckle of my pinky finger, it is the weirdest itch ever.

My mom's friend asked if my mom wa getting me on birth control soon. They both then laughed. I didn't react in the predictable cranky way though, I said I didn't care. In reality, it'd just make things easier and I wouldn't ever have to come to mom for such a thing. Plus, it lessens monthly female things.

My girlfriend is looking into that stuff. She asked her mom for it before, for its uses with the monthly lady stuff, but her mom was convinced she wanted it for its intended use as birth control. Now she actually does.

 

P.S Her parents (mostly her mom) are kinda Nazi's. And I don't think they're huge fans of me, mostly because of my career path.
