I'm actually Runescaping. I'm that bored. And everyone's asleep, so I can't nag my friends yet.

For that matter, the rest of FG as well.

I just nuked a second computer with a virus, and it was most probably from here. =/

Nex, seriously. You don't get viruses from every single website.

Highly unlikely. What makes you think it was from here?

He believes EVERY secure site is always giving him viruses. :/

There have been hacker attacks in the not-too distant past and talks of coordinated attacks. If no one else got it, it's probably not from here.

The only other sites I visited were also trusted ones.

If I'm paranoid, it's because this stuff can and does happen, and I have no abundance of luck with such things.

I use chrome. In all honesty, I don't see any difference in browsers other than the extensions/addons they suppor and the ui. It's just a matter of getting used to othem. I used to use Firefox until I switched computer. I switched the chrome only because it handled crashes nicely, allowing you to close a single tab if it was causing problems instead of crashing the whole program.

Also, I second obfuscator's question. Did you click any links in here that sent you to a shady website? Because, really, I hardly saw any links being posted in here, and of those, I probably clicked tha majority of them (unless I missed something) and I don't have any virus.

The kind of attacks perpetrated on this site were not the kind that could give you a virus anyway. Unless you clicked on a link someone posted here you didn't get a virus from here.

Also, luck has nothing to do with computer security.

These windows are horrible, and the people that installed them did a bad job.

It's honestly not that bad in my bedroom. The cold factor is on slightly annoying. I can deal with much colder cold.

If a trusted site is hacked, then it will usually be fixed in short order. That's what makes it a trusted site. The only time I could exactly pinpoint the source of a virus was a particular page on Deviantart a few years ago.

It has only happened maybe three or four times in total, and the two recent instances had ( in timing) three sites in common, one of which was Tip.it. Obviously that's not the source of either.

I realize that DDoS attacks are not inherently harmful to the user of a site, but a call for a generalized attack could attract the attention of someone with the means and will to somehow attach a virus to a site. Again, I am now confident that this wasn't the cause, but no harm in verifying.

And as policy I no longer click outgoing links, except to something like Youtube.

Nex, if a site got hacked and turned into a virus hosting site, you wouldn't be the first to know.
