Looking for a New Game? Ask Here!
I've been itching for a decent RTS game lately, and the only one I own is some really old game I had when I was a teen. So I'm looking for an RTS, but one that has things such as natural hazards (kinda like Sim City's and such) and is in a medieval, fantasy setting. If anyone knows something that fits those guidelines, please let me know. :)

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Depends on which variant you get. Some are performance friendly (don't look anywhere near as good), while others are stunningly beautiful but drop you down to about 30 fps or lower (if you're not a 10/10 perfect gaming rig). I myself have the Project MATSO ENB and have turned off my Depth of Field and Anti-Aliasing to improve my performance. (I get around 40 fps now). For reference, here are some of my screenshots on Steam so you can see what it looks like.

And they even have the audacity to ask if someone stole your sweet roll  This is why I use the Guard Dialogue Overhaul mod. They're so much nicer and more respectful once you become thane of their respective city.

Physiology does not work that way. Please see an expert. Agreed. Seriously, Mather. You need medical attention and probably a chat with a psych for safe measure. This is not how the human body operates.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Wyre Bash is another big one. Actually, I think that one is better. I looked up BOSS and it really doesn't look like the creator is keeping up with it too well. so Randox, I'd use Alg's suggestion. It really is a good program for dealing with conflicting load orders. On another note, I followed a few channels on youtube that used to cover constant mod releases (in a "Mod Spotlight" sorta fashion) and as of late videos have really been far and few between compared to before. Does anyone know of any current youtubers that are constantly reviewing mods on a daily/every other day basis or such?

IIRC, the BOSS utility is a great way to sort out your mods so that they aren't conflicting with each other. I haven't looked into it anytime recently though, but I'd imagine the project is still up to date.

It looks moderately interesting, although I don't think I'd personally play it.

Same as I always do; Lurk in the corner and watch everyone else while quietly sipping my ale.

Chapter 1 - Windward
Alright guys. This is getting way out of hand. If you want to debate about history, that is what the Back Room is for. This thread is for Windward related discussion and the sort only. Also, as of late, there have been a lot of heated discussions with some inappropriate posts being made. So for those of you participating in these heated debates, please reread the Tip.it Forum rules and try to follow them. Been a lot of posts that have been on the borderline of breaking rules lately.

Alright guys. We all know that this has been a dead thread for some time now. Neferast brought up some interesting points via PM, so I am going to unsticky this thread in the hopes that it will be used for discussing game ideas and what not. I will regularly update the OP with links if this thread is used, but if it doesn't, then the thread will die off again but won't be taking up space on the board.

DayZ. I have this mod for Arma 2. It is a very very very good project. But if anyone does decide to try it, keep in mind it is in alpha stages and we're nothing more than testers for the standalone. (Standalone coming soon, so no point really buying Arma 2: CO at this point to play it unless you really really want to spend $30 to get an earlier access to a buggier version)

Assuming you're talking about mine: It's only the latest because Tripsis hasn't posted today's yet, and it was outdated the day after I wrote it (Close to two weeks ago now) Psht, I was just looking for something to talk about so it didn't look like I was attacking Iey so much. =P But like I said, I enjoy the games, I don't really look to tell people what they should think of me, except when asked. It's alright. I know I haven't really been around much. My mind's been a mess lately, so I just tend to avoid talking to people, or in this case, keeping an eye on the Tavern since I don't really post much to begin with. I always was the silent listening type regardless. Ok, enough rambling from me. Looks like I need to find a new avatar since my last one no longer fits the file size limit. :(

Alright guys. I think this argument has well surpassed it's end. Al it is is you two going back and forth over and over and it's not going anywhere.

I've watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, on TV, on Netflix, etc; And not once have I ever heard it referred to as the Legend of Aang. Even by the fandom. O_o

Oooo. I love Dream Theater....well...mainly their Glass Prison song, but yeah. Also, I agree with the others. People like Justin Bieber do NOT deserve to be musical "hits" like they are.

Mass Effect Thread
My first time in silver, we all died in the first round (kinda sad, I know), and it turned me off of trying Silver again until I hit level 20. I went back in, and it was as smooth as butter. So I'm not sure if it was being leveled up, or my first initial team was just horrible. O_o

Looking for a New Game? Ask Here!
Highly realistic medieval-ish, or is a fantasy setting alright? If a fantasy setting is alright, I'd recommend The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Mainly anything that I can swing a sword and smash somebody in :P I would definitely recommend either of those, or if you REALLY want a game mainly for the combat, Dark Souls. You really feel as though you're swinging a heavy weapon when you use one in that game. It's not exactly sandbox though, so it might not interest you. (It has an "open world" in which all the areas are connected together amazingly, but it's not a go anywhere, do anything type of game. Mostly played for the good combat system) Of the two I mentioned before, if you want a heavy sandbox experience and have a semi-decent PC, Skyrim is a must of the two. If on console, either or is fine. But on PC, Skyrim with mods is better by far.

Gaming Setup Quandry
Unfortunately, I do not feel this question(s) really warrants its own thread as there are two other threads where you could seek an answer related to what you are looking for. Both the Battlefield Discussion Thread and the Looking for a New Game? Ask Here! thread would better suit your needs. :)

This, also, a minor suggestion that isn't really important. You could maybe add a small light effect to the orb, or something to the center of the orb to make it look like it's glowing. Would look pretty sweet. But the only real necessity would be as Mather pointed out, highlight the edges and corners a bit. :)

Yes, but a lot of people like it so that they can claim they were '90's kids', and thus are hipsters. Also relevent: http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/246/041/7ff.jpg If they were born in the 90s/late 80s, that would make them 90s kids....so I'm not sure I follow.

The Back Room
I think someone has hipster backwards. If I recall correctly, liking a game that's far from the mainstream because you like it, isn't a hipster quality. It's only hipster if you like it because it IS NOT mainstream. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Elder scrolls mmorpg
It's using a hotbar system. That alone warrants it as just another MMO with the TES name stamped on it. They'd have to have everything else be radically different for it to stand out really. But the hotbar thing right there kills it, as that just isn't what TES is about. There's nothing immersive about it. No first person? Yet another thing that belongs in TES that isn't in TES MMO. When someone imagines a TES MMO (before it was announced), they imagine playing a TES game in an MMO setting. Not change the TES game's core into an MMO styled game.
