Better Air Runecrafting

Featured Replies

As a free player, there are limited options to pass the time as I wait for my trade to complete. I choose to runecraft airs in my spare time. I was glancing through tip.it's guide, and I noticed the air crafting section could be improved. Here's the steps I take: (I know there's no way the guide could reflect the new music men, I'm just suggesting a change now. Also, this method will work in F2P, and the current method does not.)

1.) Turn and leave run on.

2.) Grab at least 50 law and 50 water runes, and then 26 rune essence (wearing lumby ring 3, air staff, and air tiara.)

3.) Cabbage teleport and run southwest.

4.) Charge run energy at the new music man at southwest corner of farmhouse.

5.) Run to air altar and craft air runes.

6.) Cast tele to falador

7.) Run to west bank, bank all air runes, grab 26 new rune essence, and repeat from step 2.

I hope this helps, it works for free players as well as members, and I believe is faster than the current listed method. Thanks for listening and please give any feedback.

One thing seems to confuse me here and it is this:

"5.) Run to water altar and craft air runes"

There is a flaw there, not to flame you, but I didn't know you could craft air runes at the water alter.

Not sure how much quicker this would be in the long run as opposed to just running to and from the east bank. As your losing 2 essence per trip with only a small increase in speed given the teleport animations.

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8
    Seercull
    Dragon Med
Dragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kc
    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

I believe using teleports significantly increases your speed, it should only be one space though because you are using a water staff and you can use the essence you craft into air runes to teleport to Falador. I still feel that anything besides runecrafting tabs in f2p is not worth it.

Believe does not = know. If you'd like to prove it, do at least 10 timed runs each way, and give us the averages.

Also, I think the two spaces saved by just cabbage teleing twice outweigh the few extra seconds you gain by teleporting to Falador.

Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <3

...not to mention, having the Explorer's Ring 3 would give you the ability to craft additional elemental runes each trip, so you'd already have the ring equipped, which would mean the teleporting would be slightly redundant (teleporting to the patch instead of from the altar to the center of town). You could use both teleports, but then you'd still be running to the altar...

As George already pointed out, we need someone to compare these methods before we can change them. However, I put it in the guide as a "best for non-members" anyway. It seemed stupid to me to list a member's method for the most F2P crafted rune. Thanks for the suggestion waterfish333, you've been credited. Note, this may take a few days before it'll actually show on the site.

I keep this topic open in the case anyone gives us some data about ballooning vs. cabbaging.
