p2p gold minning

Great_one

Recommended Posts

I've heard of a good one:

Bank at fairy bank,

Head to fairy ring,

Dial code for Fisher Kings Realm,

Whistle using the holy whistle thing from the Holy Grail Quest,

Run south to the mine,

Mine ores (also pick up the ore that respawns if you want),

Then back to the place where you whistle to head back to fisher kings, then fairy ring and bank in fairy realm or wherever you choose with a fairy ring near by

I would recommend that you do something more profitable and just buy the ore. You'd save yourself a lot through opportunity costs.

The two ways that I know of mining Gold are:

- Mining Gold in the Between A Rock... Mining Place (I forget it's name). Wear a Ring of Charos because you have to give up some gold :?: to the dwarf outside who banks it all for you.

OR

- Mining Gold in the Brimhaven horseshoe spot. I think you have to put your house in Brimhaven, tele there, mine the gold, and tele to C Wars to bank.

I don't know the methods exactly. You'd be better off looking at a guide.

It depends if he wants the ore for profit or for crafting? And also how will it save money? Aye there is an opportunity cost on any money sat in any bank however if he goes and spends it on the ores then makes something he'll have less of it than he started ;)

i'm doing it to get 75 minning, but i find drop minning such a waist and i mentally can't force myself to do it. unless you think coal would be better xp+money/hour i can do that in ardy nicely. but i actually enjoy minning gold and silver, and i know of the crafting guild but there is often competition

You don't understand opportunity costs. With his stats he could be making large amounts of money; gold mining is nowhere near his potential. By doing something profitable for an hour and buying the gold, he'd make money and still have all that ore for free.

I'm no specialist in Mining. I don't know the xp rates, and have only rough estimates on cash per hour. I was kind of hoping my original suggestion would help me skate through on this problem. ;)

If I were after gold though, I'd try Keldagrim's Arzinian Mine.

An opportunity cost is the cost of passing up the next best choice when making a decision.

So yeah I think I do undertstand opportunity costs - thanks to an A level in Business Studies ;)

But aye if he did do something like green drags or avis or something that'll bring out his full potential he'll still have the buy the ores - for which he could have bought something else like better armour, a barrows repair, better weapons, more pots, or he could watch his cash pile grow until he could afford high end things. But then if he buys the ore what's the point in it after it makes the loss? Aye i know he still gets money back if he makes re-sellable stuff; but there is still a loss eliment there.

How far from a bank is it?

Can we please stop with these responses? People like doing things for themselves. What may be better money-wise might not be what is better for a given player's game experience. Just stop already

As I recall, you can give a nearby dwarf a couple of your ores from each inventory and he will bank it for you. I haven't done that in ages though.

I apologize that my attempt to save Great_one time, money, and the brutality of Mining upsets you. If you're not going to at least contribute towards helping him in addition to attacking me, you have no place here.

To answer the question, your best bet is the good old crafting guild. Shortest banking time (dueling ring to bank, necklace of skills to the front door of the guild), and 7 gold rocks. The only downside is that there can sometimes be competition, and you need a mostly full world to make sure you don't spend any time with no ores to mine. But if you can get in a full world with no competition, this is the best spot.

If you are going to use the Brimhaven horseshoe, don't bother with the fairy rings & fisher king realm. It's faster to put your house in Brimhaven, bank in Cwars, tele to house, and run back there. This spot also has frequent competition, but can work on less full worlds, so it's easier to find an open world than with the crafting guild.

Arzinian mines would be third best, because you need to have an unlocked Ring of Charos in order to maximize your mining, but you're still giving up 1/9 of what you mine in order to bank. You don't have to worry about competition, but you give away a lot of ore over time, and it's a real pain to hang on to the gems you mine, so I don't really recommend it unless you keep running into competition at the other 2 spots.

Give it a rest. Maybe he likes mining. Maybe he wants to get ores & mining XP. Maybe he just wants to test out how to best mine gold. It's totally unhelpful to crap on what someone else wants to do. That's not helping at all. Not everyone plays to maximize GP/hour. In fact, I'm willing to bet that most people don't. And it's ridiculous to tell them that they should. There's no right way to play this game, and it's annoying when people act like there is.

If Great_one enjoys Mining, then he can mine. I never told him not to; I merely gave the most logical answer I can provide. Unless a player provides information such as: "I really enjoy training Mining!" I have no way of knowing that the player does. Most people I've encountered dislike the skill, so I was trying to help find a way around the intensive amounts of time that gold mining requires.

I do not tell other people how to play. I tell them how they can do so more efficiently when they ask.

I've used this spot before and made a decent amount of profit off it within a few days (>500,000gp) so I'd recommend it.

Alternatively you can do the iron ore in Piscatoris method and bank in Castle War lobby. Maybe not as good gp or maybe even exp as gold. But its also faster to mine and you don't have to drop them. Other wise just mine in those places that were recommended.

That's just idiotic. He's asking the question because he wants to mine gold ore, not go make money to buy gold ore. I can tell you have no intention of admitting your response was unhelpful, but it was. Your "logical" answer, and every similar answer that litters threads like this are unnecessary, and a waste of everyone's time. A lot of players want to gather their own materials. That's why they make threads like this. Not to be told to go make money to buy the resource. OK?

With your house in brimhaven, you can make the first room a quest room (I knocked out my parlor and made my quest room there) with a mounted glory the edgeville teleport drops you right at bank door. Its closer than falador but requires one extra click

I'd recommend the Arzinian Mines after Between a Rock...

Wear a ring of charos(a) is you have it, and you mine and run to the ferry dwarf and he'll bank them for a charge of 6 ores per 28 or 3 if you have the ring of charos
