Slayer - slay helm/salve amu/neitiznot/fury

Featured Replies

I've been thinking that normaly, againts a normal slayer task, slay helm is better than neitiznot, and againts an undead monster, slay helm+salve amulet is best, but I'm not very sure about it... mainly because of stats, and the max hit calculator.. does salve+slay helm even stack?

any info/oppinion is greatly apreciated

Slayer helm and Salve ammy do not stack. Against undeads it's better to use Neitiznot/Salve Ammy, and against regular monsters it's better to use Slay Helm/Fury. Unless, of course, you're killing Spectres. Then it's better to use Salve and Slayer helm.

TBH the Slayer Helm + Fury is better then the Neitiz Helm + Salve (e). And most monsters on task require some type of head gear to kill them. Mainly Banshees and Aberrant Spectres.

Because Abberant Spectres need a special headgear to kill, and the Slayer Helm provides the best defense bonuses against that attack. Also, the larger bonus will be activated (the Salve Ammy).

It would be better to use a fury instead of the Salve (e). 15% boost + Fury is better then just a 20% boost.

I think Salve (e) really affects your stats, not your equipment stats.... Therefore still, Salve Amulet (e) + Neitz helm for most cases.

I checked max hit calculator and fury is better than Salve(e) at abherent specters. You have to wear slayer helm anyways so you are only really getting 5% bonus from salve(e), and when I did max hit calculator, for me at least, 8 str bonous gave same max hit as 5% str bonus. In other words I did slayer helm + salve(e) and got same max hit as slayer helm + fury. Also since 8 str is better than 10 attack has to be(unlike def, att and str are on same scale, whip & GS for example). On top of that Fury also gives prayer and def bonus for whichever method you use.

So fury wins hands down on any undead task that requires slayer helm, and possibly on others as well as the offensive bonuses of fury are better than that of neizinot. Plus slayer helm and fury might also give more def than salve and neizinot.

You would have to do an xp per hour(and maybe gp) test to see which is actually better accuracy and prayer/def wise.

IMO, salve (e) + neitiznot > slayer + fury. Also, void does stack with salve, so... no def tho....

If you don't mind using a couple more prayer pots, it could be useful at spectres since most people pray anyways (def doesn't make a difference). Although the prayer bonus from initiate might override the bonuses of Void in terms of efficiency...

*sigh* Stop relying on a max hit calculator. If you want to 'prove' it, please conduct some testing and give us this 'evidence'. 8 equipment str bonus is not the same as '5% invisible combat stat boost'. I agree with you on the defence and prayer part, only the defence and prayer part. -.-

To the guy who said stuff about Void, if you are referring to abby specs, then gl surviving.

Can't use void or neizinot at specters :wall: , he was only talking about for last part of what I said about slayer helm + fury being good elsewhere, which I was unsure about anyways. As for specters there is no debate slayer helm + fury wins.

Jgard.png

wasnt talkin bout the spectres, I'm not that stupid. I was talking about other places, like armoured zombies, or another undead that doesn't obliterate you if you don't have headgear.

I know, I was talking to guy who posted after you...

Ok look at this. The most common undead tasks you get from masters has to be Aberrant Spectres (Duradel) and Banshees (Sumona) Both of which can have a Salve (e) used on them. But also both of which need some head gear to be able to attack them. So this is where the Slayer Helm + Fury wins hands down. It would be stupid to not use the Slayer Helm (which has the head gear in it already) And it also gives a boost to attack and Strength. Also on these task if you cannon then you also pray. The fury has a great offense plus a great prayer boost all in one. Using just the Salve (e) would be kind of pointless. Now on tasks where u don't need special head gear then Salve (e) + Neitz might be better. But those tasks are few and far between. If they exist.

Ok but this is about places that you can use the Slayer Helm. OFC at AZ Void + Salve (e) is going to be better. Unless they get assigned as tasks. Notice how it says "Slayer" and not "Armoured Zombies".
