Triplets_KGB
I suddenly get random pop ups like this, and I've Ctrl + Alt + Del to find out which process this is, and it seems to be the system file "csrss[Caution: ExecutableFile]" scanned it with AVG Free (latest updates, etc...) and it shows up with nothing, just a normal system file but I know its a virus or something because the message is different each time, with plenty of different websites!
Karvinen
Those messages are advertisements.
Chris
Karvinen's right although a little help would have been nice. http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/te ... grspam.asp Here it tells you about the messages and how to stop them by disabling the system service. I only assume you're running Windows 2000, as I've not seen it on XP. Notoriously Trollish.

Mercifull
If you are getting Messenger Spam (not msn) then you arn't running a firewall as advised in pretty much every security thread and sticky in virtually every forum on the net. This article will explain how to Disable Messenger in XP, then i STRONGLY reccomend you read the Sticky: FAQ - Index (Check here BEFORE posting a new Topic!!!) and download a few of the security prodocts advised. ZoneAlarm, SpybotSD, Ad-aware etc... Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Mercifull
i have zonealarm and windows xp firewall on, blocked the messenger service, but it still pops up.grr. You shouldnt use two different firewallas at the same time. They must be conflicting which is why you are still getting it. Turn OFF the Windows XP firewall. Make sure that you have blocked Messenger access in Zone Alarm and check that you have disabled the Messenger Service manually Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. blix1978
csrss is a normal process its nothing to worry about I usually have about 38 processes running at same time (xp pro is a hog) I have 2 fire walls running xp one and norton and I have no problems at all. unless I'm using a voice messenger service like Google talk or yahoo voice. I've also been reading up on this where this one guy had 6 entries of the svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] viles in which 1 was spelled svch0st[Caution: ExecutableFile] which was the bad one.
