Ranging for GP

Featured Replies

Alright, so I got 70 Ranged recently (woot!) and I bought a Rune c'bow and 100 mithril bolts, and ranged hill giants to test it out, and I was stunned by hitting 17/18s consistently.

So... I want 70 Prayer now, and I got to thinking about ranging green dragons for bones/hides...

So I was wondering is this the best option for my moneymaking experience?

My stats are in my signature, and I have 52 Defense.

Question time...

What is the best thing to range for cash?

What should I wear (not void :-# )?

Experience/GP per hour?

Thanks :D

To range for money you'll probably want a way better range level, 85+.

70 pray gonna cost you about 5-6m. Ranging green dragons are gonna take a long time. If I were you I would get my def to 70 and tank avianese for money.

How long is a long time? Errr..I have 91 range and I can kill 1k blue dragons in about 3hr non stop. For you maybe alot longer.

How much money per hour are green dragons? With melee I can hit 500k-600k an hr. With range, I have never tried.

How long would it take 52-70 Defence? Depends how you train it. Personally I would go yaks or rockcrabs ( High hp, low def, Although it may be crowed).

How much money per hour are Avianses? With 91 range, I can hit about 300-400k an hr, Kill them in ARMADYL CHAMBER because it have less people and no noobs ksing your kills.

I higly recommend that you get full range void, took me almost a week but its SO worth it. im hitting constant 20-28s with broad bolts which only costs 50-60 gp each.

I suggest you get higher def/prayer and range before trying to make a managable profit with range. 80-85 range atleast and 70 def and 55+ prayer is nice if your gonna do something like steel/iron dragons. For training your range i say broad bolts at fire giants with void and you might make a little money on your way.

EDIT: about training def crabs and yaks are boring and they suck, dont do them man. Slayer can get you a couple of levels without getting bored but otherwise try some profitable monsters for training or some monsters that got beneficial drops. You can try training def at Baby blue dragons, green dragons or moss/hill giants and bury the bones. that way you will gain both prayer and defence levels.

Do the Watchtower Quest and kill Blue Dragons in ogre enclave, usually empty and has a bunch of safespots, and you could use ring of dueling to bank at Castle Wars.

Its better than greens because it saves time because more money and you never need p pots, all I bring is 1 range pot per trip due to all the safespots, im there right now actually.

Why not just mine rune and buy chins?

Because Rune is an extremely poor method for moneymaking, I only have access to a few rocks, and most of them are always taken.

Heroes Guild has atleast three different scripts running across three bot programs in them, I can't mine @ Dark Beasts.

Neitiznot is just bad.

And Wilderness Rocks are decent, but I'd rather have a more reliable moneymaking method.

AND... I don't want money for Ranged, I wanna make money ranging to get my prayer up, so I can potentially boss hunt later.

@Ieatwindex,

I completely forgot about those, I used to train there @ 52 range on my old account, this should be much much much better.

With your stats, I think you could kill Aviansies fairly efficiently with Protect from Range and Ranging Pots. Take about 8-9 Prayer Pots per trip and maybe 3+ Range Pots (I've only ever tanked so you may want to check a guide and correct me .) In-between runs, you could work on raising your Defense to 70, by which time you'll probably have a higher Range level, making it easier for you to tank .

The ones in arma chamber have twice the hp and hit harder. Just go to a mid pop world and the zammy/bandos area. Way more gp per hour if done right.
