hermyabc
Hi, I know that there are multiple guides out there for praying avansies, however, I need some advice from experienced players. As of now, what is more important, range bonus or range bonus? What are some good set ups for a Void Pure?
ghjkl
Range bonus=Range bonus  You want a pray bonus of about 12, then pour the rest into range. As with a void setup: Void Rune crossbow with broad bolts Archer ring ranger boots zammy book fury ALl you really need is a zammy item if you stay to the west
hermyabc
Thanks, by the way, I will be in the arma encampment. Does anyone know the average xp an hour at 75 range? And why 12 prayer bonus?
Geburah
The exp per hour is around 35-40k/h
hermyabc
Does anyone know why the optimal prayer bonus is 12?
bsmovies
It isn't the optimal. It's just an ok figure. Personally, If you have the defence, I'd wear dhide body, monk legs, mitre, and fill everything else with range boosting equips. My setup is like this and I manage to have a prayer boost of 20+ and range boost of 110+. Best of both :)
JoeDaStudd
Depends on your prayer level but this is about the best void prayer bonus you'll want/get if you have the money. Stole (sara) Unholy book (zammy) Bandos boots (1+ prayer and bandos protection) The rest of the item slots are pretty much taken although you can wear explorers 3 for an extra prayer bonus. Lets you get a few extra respawns in the zammy/bandos area and lets you run to the sara area to regain the auto attack from the avis. For pure prayer replace the void helm with mitre, top and bottoms with monk robes (lets you use 10% prayer all the time) and gloves with barrows or dhide. [hide=Drops]Dragon Axe x11Berserker Ring x9Warrior Ring x8SeercullDragon MedDragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kcGodsword Shard (bandos)Granite Maul x 3Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats][/hide]
gorgoroth
I always go with the Highest Prayer bonus i can get. With the right gear you can get upto 40 Prayer bonus. You will however have a low Ranged bonus but thats why i use the 10% prayer. **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
hermyabc
So either 20ish prayer bonus and some range bonus or best possible prayer bonus + hawk eye? What about emerald tipped bolts (e)?
Silver_Corner
Thanks, by the way, I will be in the arma encampment. If you plan to kill them inside the arma encampment area, keep in mind you will need an armadyl item of some sort. Even though you will be praying range, there are also armadyl meleers and magers who will attack you inside if you do not have a armadyl item on. As for a general setup for the inside area, really anything goes if your praying and it can be cheap if you want to it be. Just make sure you have: 1) Arma item (Helm/Body/Skirt/Amulet) 2) Zammy item (Don't need a sara item inside the area) 3) Decent prayer bonus anything over 10-15+ 4) Rest Range bonus There isnt really a perfect setup, but as long as you have something along those lines above you should be fine. hermyabc
Thanks, yeah I forgot the arma pend and got pwned in the encampment 2 minutes ago...teleed out at 5 hp...0_0 So no sara items needed?
Silver_Corner
So no sara items needed? Its not *required*, but you can bring one if you like. There are no sara monsters in the actual encampment area. The only place you can get attacked by sara is outside on your way walking to the armadyl area. You might want to wear a holy symbol when you enter GWD, and pray range**. Then walk over the armadyl entry way. Once you get to the entrance, put on the armadyl pendant, then grapple over. **Keep in mind that avians OUTSIDE of the encampment can only range you, so range protection will keep them from doing damage outside the encampment. That procedure should protect you from most of the monsters attacking you on your way to Avians.
JoeDaStudd
If your praying don't go in the arma area. There are twice the hp on that side and you have to wear an arma item (losing up 10+ prayer bonus) [hide=Drops]Dragon Axe x11Berserker Ring x9Warrior Ring x8SeercullDragon MedDragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kcGodsword Shard (bandos)Granite Maul x 3Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats][/hide]
hermyabc
Wait, you are saying that they take longer to kill on the other side?
JoeDaStudd
They take twice as long to kill due to the double hp, don't auto attack you and you lose a possible 10+ prayer bonus. [hide=Drops]Dragon Axe x11Berserker Ring x9Warrior Ring x8SeercullDragon MedDragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kcGodsword Shard (bandos)Granite Maul x 3Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats][/hide]
hermyabc
Are you sure that they have double hp? I just checked the tip.it database and it says otherwise
mmmcannibalism
Are you sure that they have double hp? I just checked the tip.it database and it says otherwise he may be thinking of the fact there are a few of the level 130 something aviansie in the arma area killing in the arma chamber is perfectly fine, there are 3 or 4 spots with multiple low level spawns, and if you have your zammy and arma items you dont have to worry about going near a sara monster. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
hermyabc
Ah I see, well I did some research and this is what I found: Combat levels do not really affect hp. In increasing HP order: Avansies CB: 71, 73, 69, 131,94, 97. Avansies with these CB's have Hp's in the range of the 60's and 70's while the CB 84 and 87 Avansies have much higher HP's. And yeah I decided on inside the encampment because there are many more avansies and I found a sweet spot. This question is solved. Results (it might help other people) For a level 76 zerker pure with 44 prayer and 71 range, best gear is: Sara Mitre, Arma Pendent, Monk robes top and bottom, Rune cross bow with emerald (e) bolts, zammy book, archers ring and climbing boots in Armadyls encampment.
