Right now jagex has failed us. Yet again...

Finally after teasing us again and again with pictures of a new minigame, it comes out!!! Yet it is just another one of jagex's fails. We cant play, 1 hour later they "update it" and nothing happens i mean come on how did this pass jagex's quality standards? I have been on for 4 hours in the waiting room and i played 1 game. They also need to add more servers i mean come on 4 servers that are full for a new minigame. ADD MORE!!!!

In short jagex seems like they dont care about quality. Please give us a game that works jagex. We might be happy again.

Releasing the game to the whole world is something way different than just testing situations. So, stuff like this is inclined to happen. Just have a little patience till Jagex fixes it (which is usually quite fast), and stop overreacting.

Do you immature kids ever grow up? It's a game of tactics, it doesnt fail, if they fix it down the tracks so certain things arent massively overpowered it could take more skill than you think (and tactics)

The only way they failed this game is

Rewards

No spectator

And no-rating games should've been added to play against friends..

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Not only did they fail us like that rayoxide, they also made it so once we play 1 game even with 21 people in a room, it can be 3 hours till you play again! I mean, come one! :wall:

O.K, first of all, welcome to the forum, and thanks for already making yourself look like an idiot. You might want to go join the popular Eatrunearrow clan for all your Jagex hate needs. One thing I find at fault is the fact that apparently nobody remembers the Fist of Guthix minigame. The first couple weeks were hell to get through because of exactly these problems. Actually, it was overpopulation and the game was not working right. If you people would shut up for ten seconds and maybe wait a little while, the game will be perfectly fine. They were working on a game, and their testing did not include having thousands of people going there and doing it. They had to probably put it into the game to find out what to tweak in order for it to work. Which is probably the easiest way to make the game is put the minigame in and figure out what is at fault with it.

It's only the first day of release, give them time before you complain about Jagex "quality". If you wanted quality you wouldn't be playing a Java based free online role playing game. If it is so bad, leave it alone. It's not an integral part to the game, and it deffinately will not make or break your character, so leave it alone for a while and see what happens in a week or two.

By the way, Tipperdoesn't rule.

Seriously, just let Jagex have some time to fix it a bit before flaming them like an idiot.

Nothing can be perfect on the first try. And this is Jagex's first shot at such a game. So have patience, allow them to fix some stuff, and once they're done, it should be fine.

I understand your point, and normally I'd agree. In this case, however, JaGEx has been hyping this game for months. For it to debut so poorly after all that is really unacceptable. Also, like Ray said, this is not their first time designing such a game.

I love to meet people; send me a pm if you see me on RuneScape! :)

Actually, they introduced a lot of techniques when creating this minigame. Though it's odd how they've mentioned that they wanted it thoroughly tested before release. I just read this topic: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=801537

I mean, come on.. with the promise of thoroughly testing, that is not acceptable.

AoG is fun and all, but its just Fire Emblem with different sprites and a few small changes :?. They should make small beta servers, like what happened with KickAbout(another bit of a disappointment, due to lagging and the goalies seem to be on drugs) with a few hundred people trying out the new game before it is released to the general public. However, when you log in, the server reads what is in your bank and inventory, and when you log out everything is returned to the way it was before you logged into the beta server. Jagex gets feedback for the new minigame, the glitches in the minigame are found in the beta, and players get a free preview of the new minigame. Everybody wins. Now someone go rant on the rsof about this

The problem with beta servers is that it completely ruins the surprise of a game, because you can't stop people from taking pictures of it, spreading every last detail they can drain about the content, and it just all in all ruins the surprise.

Do you have any argument other than "jagex have hard time, programming so hard!"

So what, programmings hard but we DO pay them 5 dollars a month (well some of us do) therefore we expect our content to be of good quality, and not riddled with bugs on the day of release.

Some games get months of QA testing before a release, this game gets none by the looks of it.

O.O

Think of it logically.

$5 isn't very much tbh. Compared to other games, Jagex charges very little.

How big is their QA team? How many people test a single project? Maybe 10? How many players will play the new update when it comes out? Tens of thousands? Is it no wonder, then, that the players find more bugs?

If you forget about the bugs and look at the actual game, how you play it, the logic involved, the tactics you can use... well, it still sucks. #-o

I agree that it could have been better planned and conceptualized. A lot better.

Let this minigame be a lesson to you.

Don't smoke pot and develop Runescape. It could lead to content miscarriage.
