talien
So, after I came back from a trip, my dad (who never liked my playing runescape, even though I only play max 1 hr a week) and he says he cut back the internet speed... so RS might not work. So I try it out, and everything is ok, even RS for a while, but after a bit of playing, the connection is lost, the page goes to the login page and the graphics are moving, but no buttons work. I restart Firefox and the comp, and I can't load the rs site, even looking up my scores with a skill calc doesn't work, and I tried that on 3 diff computers, a windows 2000, a windows xp, macbook air on wifi. So I tried a circumventor, stupidcensorship.com with the default settings, and I can load the page and everything fine but the game, even the java loads before right before the game once I click play. So is there anything I can do, or any circumventors I can use? I have membership right now (friend got me a gift card) so I'm a bit more concerned because of this. tyvm in advance =)

talien
that's what it looks like, unless anyone has a better explination.
Nadril
He didn't block the site unless you can no longer physically go to that site address. I'm not really sure what he means when he said he "cut back" the internet speed, but perhaps give us a Speedtest report.
talien
I can't go to the site, or anything connected to it. I downloaded and tried swiftkit and that didn't work, either. My speed test said this: download 2.40 mb/s, upload .36 mb/s, ping 107ms. We used to have high speed internet, but I never tested the speed before, though it does seem about as fast on my old computer.

sloter
I would say you should ask and see if someone blocked it. If so then you know that is your issue. You could try pinging runescape.com it might possibly just be a speed issue.
Talien8
Thanks everyone. I tried a lot of stuff, and Tor is the only thing that lets me use Java, but it doesn't load all the way, and says this. Anyone know what to do? RuneScape was unable to connect to the update server. This is most likely caused by a firewall blocking the connection. To resolve this: * If you have firewall or security software installed, they can often block RuneScape from accessing its servers. Please ensure that RuneScape/Java can connect to its servers on port 43594. * Note: Windows XP Service Pack 2 has built in firewall software. If, when loading RuneScape, this asks if you want to allow the connection, you need to say 'yes'. * If that doesn't help, then an external firewall may be causing the problem. Please ask your network adminstrator/ISP to open port 43594 for TCP traffic so that RuneScape and Java can run correctly.
