If your router came with a installation CD you should be able to reconfigure your network key to something new. I'd recommend putting this in a safe place afterwards where no one can see it.

What is the name of the router you have anyways?

Take your dad with you and go over to him and ask why he is using it =)

Much more fun to see his reaction than just reconfigure WPA.

Does he have your actual password or is it your WEP/WPA key that he has?

If he has your actual password you can login using a browser (follow the instructions here) and change your password there.

Which password is this? my Account password?

^ Pretty sure it's the account password.

If you type "192.168.0.1" into your browser it will allow you to configure your router.

The page that will show up will require a username and password. The username should be "admin" and the password should be "sky" unless you changed it during initial setup.

When you log in you should be able to change your account password as well as your WPA key (I think).

I believe there is step by step instructions how how to configure your router here. You could try that out.

Ok, I phoned the SKY Broadband helpline, and we talked and if I did change my WPA Key, then my Internet will be out for few weeks, but there was another option, my neighbour can't see SKY45012 when he connects, but he can see the others.

Out for a few weeks? Wow, I can change mine myself and only have downtime for less than a few minutes. :?

If your neighbour can't see SKY45012 then maybe he isn't in range of your router and won't be able to use it.

There was a box which said "Name SSID" or something like that, and it was ticked, and everyone could see it, but i unticked the box, so no-one can see it now.

I guess that solves your problem then. :)

Although I'm guessing if you ever want to connect a computer or device to the internet (that isn't already connected) through that router you'd probably have to uncheck that box so you can see the wireless access point.

Pay extra? How do they charge you? Most broadband is a flat rate.

Anyway, depending on how you have your network set up, it's not that hard to change the security key. Also hiding the SSID doesn't stop him from stealing your internet. Maybe you could provide us with more information on how you set up your network.

That won't fix your problem as anyone can still see the network with the proper software. You're going to have to change your network key to keep people out. I can't believe it would go down for a few weeks. If I change my key it's done in a few seconds. And once the router is yours, it's yours. No one should be charging you extra for features on it, as no company then owns it.

Hopefully. He may just be a scriptkiddie who just uses brute force software.

Make sure you have a very secure password. If he's smart, he'll let go. If he's not, complain. You may even be able to take it to a small claims court. \'
