When opening the cell door in the bottom of the witches house to get the sheet music off the stand: Note: Ice gloves do not work. It says you try to open the door with your bare hands and you will receive a shock for 15hp damage.

In the required items it makes mention that they should be leather and non-metal, but you're right...I wasn't aware that ice was a metal! I'm wondering what gloves other than leather would work? Would RFD gloves work? Is it JUST leather gloves?

all it says is "non-metal". I didn't know that lunar gloves would be metal nor would ice gloves be. I ended up using gloves of silence. I think karajama gloves would have worked as well.

That's good that you found some that worked other than leather (it does have leather gloves in parenthesis). Maybe a list can be started of gloves that work...

I ended up using my mourner's gloves since i don't keep leather gloves around anymore.

Jagex has always been bad about including all gloves/gauntlets when a new quest comes out needing gloves. (Ghosts Ahoy picking nettles was one, Mountain Daughter picking white pear atop white wolf mountain was another.) It would probably be best if we just said leather gloves.

leather gloves and mourners ones are the ones that work. all other have defense bonuses. This is what stops you, much like going to entrana. Mime gloves and zombie gloves would also hypothetically work, but i finished the quest before thinking of those possibilities.

Also, just did quest and found that fairy can won't work. I kept getting a message saying that "I thought it would be a bad idea". I had to go and buy a regular can to grow the beanstalk.
