MPM
Hey there. I'm currently working on a mechscape tip site (entirely unrelated to tip.it). What tools do you think this site is going to need, both common and uncommon. This is definatly going to have the same stuff tip.it has, but there can always be room to add on. 1: Monster/item/npc/shop/quest database all linked together. If an item is added to the database, a monster can instantly have that item added to it from a quick menu. 2: Guides in book style. You can load the whole guide and get the basic walkthrough, or you can load the current section and get details and story. 3: Database managed calculators that may possibly give cost/profit totals. 4: Site+Community merged. It will have the same style member/crew structure as tip.it, but community members will have easy way to suggest changes, and notes on all changes(however little) will be posted somewhere. Thanks to anyone who provides a little input/sugguestion. If it seems like it would be entirely off the wall to implement, still suggest it. Maybe the whole thing you suggest can't be done, but part could ~M
Adam007
I'd be glad to help out, at this point given our history it only seems natural. :P I'm pretty good with color schemes/layouts. I could photoshop up a website design image-wise for you to code, but I don't know how to code anything myself. I'd like to start looking at sample mechscape artwork and coming up with a color and design scheme based off that. Get back to me with what you're currently working on. MPM
Hey Adam :) Right now, the site is being created with a layout that is directly copied from PHPBB's prosilver templates. I know I don't use all of their stylesheet, but I havn't narrowed down what I'm using yet, so I can't suggest making a colour scheme yet :\ Feel free to toss me anything you think of though. Once I get some of my messy stuff cleaned up, we can work and get a couple of stylesheets ready so they aren't stuck with just one set of colours. ~M
Danqazmlp
To sum up, your making a mechscape fansite totally unrelated to tipit yes? Will you have the time to do that and stay as a tipit crew? Also, will you be having forums? Will you be having content guides aswel? Want to be my friend? Looks exciting, I'll help out if you need me, I'm really looking forward to mechscape!!! >:D Maybe just have what you have there, but making it work well, lol. Cause if you have heaps and heaps of features, and half of them don't work. Well then your pooed.
MPM
To sum up, your making a mechscape fansite totally unrelated to tipit yes? Correct Will you have the time to do that and stay as a tipit crew? I will have less time, but I'll still be avaliable to help out on Tip.it (at least as much as I am now) Also, will you be having forums? Absolutely. I'm wanting the site to have a strong community feel, and am currently debating with myself if things would be better if website accounts are connected to forum accounts, or if they should be seperate. Will you be having content guides aswel? Of course! Wow. Looks exciting, I'll help out if you need me, I'm really looking forward to mechscape!!! >:D Maybe just have what you have there, but making it work well, lol. Cause if you have heaps and heaps of features, and half of them don't work. Well then your pooed. Glad to hear. I don't know if I can get all of the planned features in before release, but (unless they release tomorrow or something) the major components of a tip site will be working with room to grow on. ~M
Phil
Sounds good. Sorry I'm not very good at the creative stuff, but if you need any help just give me a shout. Good luck with the project anyway.

Does that mean we would have to log in to see the site aswell, that's a shame, i much prefer public fansites. Want to be my friend? Nope, just for extra features that require information being saved. (Comments, stats, favorite pages, suggested edits) ~M
Deathmath
An easier way for player made guides to be on the main site >.> Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
SupaDavis
If you had a log in thing for the entire site, enable it so that you can log in, and then when you go to calcs and stuff, it will already have your User/Xp there. And when you go to a quest list, it will have any quests you previously ticked. That would be epic.
Danqazmlp
I'm not familiar with domain's and the like, but i'd suggest not making it untill the real name is released. Will be a bit of a waste to have e.g 'Mechscapefansite3.com' when the game comes out and is called 'Star brigade' or something. Want to be my friend? decebal
I'm all for you making a Mech Tips site, but, I'd wait on the content of the site ("grind" calcs, etc.) until we find out what Jagex has in mind for Mechscape. Don't forget that they have us entirely dumbfounded on what they ahve in mind for Mechscape (I don't ever remember an MMO that doesn't need much grinding)
