It looks quite nice so far. The only bad things i can say are that the eyes dont look that great, and also i dunno about the sword ;\ Looks a bit too thick.

I prefer demonfirzen's update, the hand and sword looks better and the face could be improved from yours fanzoo.

No. YOU SHOULD NOT USE PILLOW SHADNG. For the love of god, there will never be a case were pillow shading is exceptable. Know what your talking about before you try to instruct someone, please.

The shading on the latest version is a bit straight. If the light source is behind him, why is there highlighting on our side of him? There should be mostly shadow with highlighting around the edges.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The arm needs to be fixed up, you need to give him an elbow and distinguish between his arm and forearm. And maybe make his arms less chubby and more muscular.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's looking not too bad though. Oh and the sun / moon looks a bit like a weird lens flare. Keep it up.

very nice - i just dont think the BG suits the character.... maybe at something in the BG to suggest warriors or mages?
