70+ Skills.

I'm in the proccess of raising some of my skills to a level somewhat more...respectable. Kind of embarresing being a lvl 131 with skills still in the 50's. I want to try and get my skills to 80+, but for now i'll settle for 70+. I only have a few skills that still need to be done but i have no idea what to do with them. I need the following skills up:

Mining (69) - I have a pair of brawlers i can use on them.

Smithing (65) - I have a pair of brawlers for this too, but it wont get me to 70. Any idea what i should fo after i've used the brawlers to minimize my loss?

Farming (53) - I have no idea on what to do. Should i just stick to ranarrs to minimize my loss?

Thieving - PP?

Construction (53) - No clue what to do. Should i cut my own wood and use that?

Herblore (54) - I think i am most likely to use my own herbs to minimize my loss.

EDIT: A question about brawlers. Will i get double exp if i use them on a normal world in the Wilderness or do they only work on a pvp world?

I'm pretty sure brawlers will only give the extra experience points if used on a player-vs-player type world

Eww... well that fails because using brawlers in a PvP world is just asking to lose them.

Use this guide for figuring out the best ways to use your brawling gloves. Brawling gloves must be used in PvP wilderness for 4x the experience, or 1.5x the experience anywhere else on a PvP world. After you have used your smithing brawling gloves use this Blast Furnace Guide on mithril bolts to profit/have minimal losses.

As for farming I would recommend zaaps1's guide for quickest ways to do your runs. Plant herbs and the best trees/fruit trees you can. For herblore sell any herbs you have and buy the ingredients for prayer potions. Super attacks and strengths are also around the same cost to make now so you might want to try those. They give the best gp/xp ratio and will allow you to train it quickly and at the smallest cost.

I wouldn't consider Pyramid Plunder at your level yet but rather blackjacking which can give you more experience.

Lastly for construction make oak larders using Stealing Creation Hammers for fastest and cheapest experience. Buy oak logs from the GE and bring them plus cash and a saw/hammer to your POH. Get your butler to unote the logs and then take them to the sawmill.

Eh sorry for putting in so many links but the guides I've offered you are extremely helpful and will give you a lot more in depth view of what to do to level your skills. Hope this helps somewhat.

If you use the fast_sc123/fast_sc456 and quick_sc123/quick_sc456 on world 114 there is no combat involved so the lagg won't matter as much because it's just skilling. Gmaes can also be completed in around 12minutes there too. That's about all I could suggest though.

For farming, this is what I wrote up for another player, it might prove useful.. Keep in mind that you should do the best trees and fruit trees, allotments and whatever you can for more experience. Supercompost also helps a lot.

What I would recommend for trees:

Items:

-Buy around 10 plant pots.

-Buy x (number of fruit and tree seeds).

Sowing seeds:

Now use the plant pot on any farming patch while having a trowel in your inventory to fill it with dirt. Then use the seed on it and water it (use watering can on it).

All you have to do is wait for it to become a grown seedling, and when that's done you can plant them while having a spade in your inventory.

To save time: make sure you have ready to plant samplings in your bank. After you sow a seed in a pot and water it you can also bank it and it will mature as well to the plantable form.

Method for farming:

You should do regular farming runs. Plan your route carefully.

What I usually do is the following:

1. Start in Lumbridge (tree patch)

2. Teleport Varrock (tree patch)

3. Take the spirit tree (next to the maze there is a fruit tree patch).

4. Spirit tree again, to the Gnome Stronghold (fruit tree and tree patch).

5. Teleport Ardougne (allotment and fruit tree patch when you take the boat to Brimhaven).

6. Teleport Camelot (allotment and fruit tree patch in Catherby).

Of course you can add explorer ring (cabbage teleport to Falador allotments) and the Ectophial (allotments west of the Ectofuntus) to your route in between teleports.

Naturally you should pay the farmers to care for your crops.

Additional experience can be earned from wielding the Falador shield 2 (easy + medium achievement diary) at the Falador patches and from wielding Magic secateurs (fairy tale part 1 Quest).

Oh, and if you haven't done it, take the time to do Garden of Tranquility, that gives a fair amount of xp as well (though when you do that, make sure to have stuff to alc to keep you busy).

You should do regular farming runs, especially before going to sleep at night. Keep in mind that fruit trees take much longer to mature than regular trees, and that allotments are faster even.

Have fun with farming! :D

Regarding mining and smithing:

I might just be a "mining freak" but it is my opinion that "powermining" is a gigantic waste of ores.

What I did was buy a whole bunch of mithril ore (or perhaps you'd like to mine these), bring them into mining guild along with nats and a lava battle staff to mine and superheat. Sure, coal may take a bit longer than powermining iron or granite, but the advantage of superheating in the mine as you mine is that you don't have to bank as much than regular mining, and it helps your magic and smithing levels up a bit too.

You can always use the bars for smithing (mith platebodies are good for alcing), or if you like wasting, for money.

I did this for a long time and it was good fun.

  • 2 months later...

I think best way to farm is plant best trees you can. You can also grow limpwurt + kwuarm for super str (for herblore), or i grew ranarr + limp, sell them both for other ones (with better exp per gp) if you want to minimise loss.

For mining, I would suggest mining iron ores with sacred clay pickaxe. This way, if you buy coal and make steel bars, then steel platebodies with Sacred Clay hammers, you can level smithing as well. Since iron is fairly fast and easy (and they cost ~170gp ea), while coal is slightly slower (~190gp ea, i.e. 380gp per bar), you would probably minimise your loss while saving time as well. Time you spent on mining the coal can be better spent on mining iron ores.

Sorry that's all I can think of for the moment.
