August 23, 200916 yr Edit 2: Broken again, see post below please. Edit: Wow, you guys are good! My mouse suddenly functions properly again :D No idea what the problem was or what fixed it but still if someone has some information it would be good to know for the future. Hi. Forgive me in advance if I am not giving enough information as I am not the least bit savvy in this area. I run Windows XP with a very basic 3 button Logitech mouse. Suddenly the scrolling wheel will only work when scrolling up. When I try to scroll down it moves about 3 lines and then stops completely. The problem is universal, not limited to just certain programs. Any ideas for fixing this?
August 23, 200916 yr Smash it on something hard. That usually works for my electronics. Vienna Raszyn Warsaw Klushino
August 23, 200916 yr Either that or try end the process called SetPoint[Caution: Executable File] (press Ctrl Alt Del to get to Task Manager). It does more damage than good.
August 23, 200916 yr Author Ok, it has stopped working again. Smash it on something hard. That usually works for my electronics. Didn't work for me. Any other ideas?
August 24, 200916 yr If the mouse wasn't that expensive, just buy a new one. I doubt you have some sort of a warranty for a mouse, but if you just want a 3 button mouse with a scroll wheel you can get those for like $5. Vienna Raszyn Warsaw Klushino
August 25, 200916 yr reinstall/update the driver Logitech. Also if it is wireless you could try changing the batteries.
August 25, 200916 yr I'd just assume the mouse is broken or is slowly dying on you. Their are some things that are worth trying to fix but for me when it comes to broken keyboards and mice just replace them.
