Technically its a tricycle but its still pretty cool. I can imagine riding one at the london science museum or something lol.

Something about that screams difficulty at me. It looks like he's using nice, grippy rubber tyres there, which of course he'd have to, lest the square wheel slip slightly out of place and cause it all to go wrong.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway, the normal contact force between wheels and track is going to change direction all the time, which is going to make it a weird, lurchy ride. With a round wheel the bike is always pushing down on the ground, and the ground up on the bike; with this, the bike pushes... all kinds of crazy directions like "left" and "right" and so does the track.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The effect of that would be that, anywhere other than at the bottom or top of the round bits, the bike would be being pushed backwards or forwards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

...Then again, if the wheels are -- and it looks as thought they might be -- big enough to touch both sides of the "valley" parts then it wouldn't matter quite so much.... I'll shut up now. Probably I'm wrong, anyway.
