October 10, 200916 yr They went up when the new "Menagerie" Construction room came out... basically it encouraged some people to raise their construction level so they buy more Oak planks to train it which caused the price to go up. More demand = higher price. October 10, 200916 yr I remember buying 15k of them in july for 470 ea. But 500-550 sounds like a fair price. If you want, just buy the oak logs and use the butler to make planks out of them, it might be slower, but cheaper by 200 gp per plank.
October 10, 200916 yr Its simply that building, removing and re-building oak larders is a fast way of leveling construction. Materials = experience, people will pay large amounts of money for fast exp and suppliers will gladly comply with a cost rise.
