I'm loving this update, too bad it'll probably be deserted again in a few days. Duel tournaments are the best Minigame, the one which requires the most and has potentially awesome rewards. Too bad hardly any runescapians actually like stuff which takes skill and therefore take a while before you're good at it. Most people are like "z0mg can't win against 130's+" and then leave, while muggi and others show it's perfectly possible.

I'm not very experienced with these tournaments since I'm not a risk-PvP fan, but isn't it true that people can/do hide until most people kill each other in the same free for all MA used to be? Neither would I be very happy to be teamed up on. I'm sure muggi and others can do fine with their ancients and zomgwtf combos but unless there aren't countermeasures for what I just mentioned, duel tournaments seem pretty unattractive to me.

That's one of the beautiful things of it, it's all 100% single combat. It's like any normal, real world tournament. You're assigned an opponent, if you beat him you move on to the next round. If you lose, you're out of the tourny. You're talking of Fight Pits.

they some adjustments to it today i managed to win my first seven tournaments in a row! then it sort of went down hill but i can reach the final almost every time now i am in register 4 but i lose hell of alot of cash on barrage runes etc

Seems like they are already re-dying out; I need to hurry and get 2K rank before they are completely dead. :unsure:

I've spent a few evenings there now and it's not that great. The problem is, even if you're not using ancients, you spend a load of money on runes/food/pots etc and it's far more than you're likely to make back from a tourney where you pay 10k or something to enter. I reckon they should up the average price to enter to about 50k rather than 10k or whatever it is now.
