MTK on herbs and growing some of the higher level herbs will save a lot of gp too.

Herblore exp is extremely expensive at the moment.

Step 1: Gathering herbs.

Take up farming and farm your herbs.

Gather more herbs either killing things, doing MTK or whatever you can.

Step 2: Gathering seconds.

Farm, kill, gather. Get it yourself and it won't cost a thing.

Where you get your herbs from has no bearing on the cost of exp (opportunity costs).

MTK on herbs atm is the best profit regardless. It would be a waste of time selling them in the GE then buy them back for equal or more.

The herbs from MTK will open up other training methods which you might not normally use. For example you get a lot of harralanders which are great for tarring.

If your growing your own herbs and seconds (mainly poison berries and belladonna) when you'd normally do farming runs anyway is more exp for equal cost.

At the moment the average profit from herbs is about equal on 3/4 different herbs, meaning it would be faster to farm the ones for herblore exp instead of farming something else then selling it and then buying other herbs.

Most cheap way to 99 herblore is actually a profitable way, involves making weapon poison ++.

Making on average 3-4K per potions and 190 xp. Have fun, it's not the fastest way though.

Yeah, Qeltar has a guide on it.

Anyway, you missed the boat for the cheap xp. I bought 38k super energies for 1-1.7k each, and will hopefully get my papaya's for around 1.5-1.7k each. This will come down to around 3-3.5k per 200 xp which is not too bad if you compare it with the other methods and it is ultra fast.

You could also buy antifires and collect your own phoenoix feathers. Only 12gp/xp, but opportunity cost of collecting feathers.

Yup, antifires average out to about 100k xp/hour at a cost of 1200k/hour. Other extreme pots should be about 25gp/xp, and get you 400k/hour xp or something at a cost of 10m. It takes 4 hours to gather phoenix feathers and make antifires for 400k xp, and that costs 4800k. You have to make over 1700k/hour or something for super antifires to be less efficient than other pots, not counting the xp you might get while making money.

You could try prayer potions or something to get to 85, basically any potion that's around 25 gp/xp is good.

Dont forget that extreme pots are actually somewhat usefull, or did you factor that in too? I know antifires are useful too, but I use way more super sets than antifires. Anyway, it's always a bit hard to get the cost of making those new pots since they are untradeable, but they do have a use so valuing them at zero gp is not really right.
