Johannas
My turn :D Well i've been waiting to post a list for some time, it's a shame the last list didn't get any more comments but it was left long enough. Here's the list, i was going to add a description to each album but i don't have the time to go into that much detail. However i strongly recommend you check out the songs i suggested in the top 10 bands - (and comment!) Quite alot of the bands are from here in the UK so may not be known on such a global scale, but who knows! Any questions just ask, would be good to get a discussion going aswell for once. [Edit: Drafted this out beforehand, with no hindsight that the formatting would be messed up. Please ignore the fail code errors :XD: [hide=The List - Image Heavy]1. Bladewing
Your list seems pretty narrow in focus. If you were to recommend to someone ONLY 50 albums to own, wouldn't you want to recommend a wider variety? Johannas
Your list seems pretty narrow in focus. If you were to recommend to someone ONLY 50 albums to own, wouldn't you want to recommend a wider variety? My music taste is quite genre specific, i admit. I thought long and hard about what you said however i wouldn't be in the position to post albums on my thread if i didn't like them. The albums i would recommend would be a slightly different list Hell - Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Guns n Roses are all great bands - they all have some great elements to them, however i don't like them as much as the others so they're not in my list. If i was to recommend albums to influence people, i would include The Beatles, The Who, Led Zep, GnR, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Bee Gees. But instead my list is of my favourite albums.Sorry - sounds a bit waffled :s Fair point? Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!
Range_This11
Your list seems pretty narrow in focus. If you were to recommend to someone ONLY 50 albums to own, wouldn't you want to recommend a wider variety? The variety comes from all the different users posting their favorite music, which tends to be genre heavy, and, in turn, giving us a broad array of music that we may have not heard before. See how that works? :) "He could climb to it, if he climbed alone, and once there he could suck on the pap of life, gulp down the incomparable milk of wonder." warri0r45
I like Deftones and Paramore (you're right - Careful is an awesome song). Most of the others I'll have to check out.
justcallmedaddy
I am going to comment on your Blink 182, since I like them quite a bit. The best song on TOYPAJ is RollerCoaster. And instead of Enema of the state, I very strongly reccomend the Mark, Tom, and Travis Show: The Enema Strikes Back! It is a live CD with many songs from Enema, but more fast paced and MUCH better vocals. It also has good songs from Dude Ranch and their best from Cheshire Cat, Carousel. Johannas
I have all the blink 182 albums  The problem when recommending a song is that i could've easily recommended 5 or 6 songs on every album for the top 20. I just chose the song that i thought gave the best representation of the band for people that hadn't heard them before. I think all the songs on TOYPAJ are awesome, in fact at college the other day everyone wore their old school uniform for charity and i listened to the whole album - took me back a bit lol Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig! Plugpoint
Good list, been meaning to check out Meg and Dia for a while. And agreed that Careful's one of the best songs on 'brand new eyes', Misguided Ghosts and All I Wanted are incredible too. :D Maxed 15/06/
Johannas
Yeah Meg and Dia have something interesting about them. Singing like no other, and cool lyrics. I know alot of people in this forum like Jesu - if you do i strongly recommend Aereogramme (http://www.myspace.com/aereogrammeofficial) and Prego (http://www.myspace.com/pregomusic) They are slightly less heavy but equally as interesting. OldJoe
It seems like people have lost interest in these posts? Or maybe people don't bother about less well known members. Well, the list... I have to say that i'm not a fan of it. I remember some years back when this type of music was "in" and alot of kids listened to it, but i never did. Don't know, i just can't swing with it =) But either way, nice work! J'adore aussi le sexe et les snuff moviesJe trouve que ce sont des purs moments de vieJe ne me reconnais plus dans les gensJe suis juste un cas désespérantEt comme personne ne viendra me réclamerJe terminerai comme un objet retrouvé
kolko
Any list that contains Showbiz as the best album by Muse is a fine list indeed
