Jagex's Reading of Appeals

Featured Replies

First off, this isn't a rant about me being unfairly muted. It is a rant about the couldn't-give-a-[cabbage]-ness of Jagex when it comes to this area.

So i was in a popular CC, trolling a bit. I was telling someone that most bots have trouble with recognising 3D objects in randoms, thus the reason there are randoms. He kept arguing that and saying that they can solve them easily.

So i went off, and when i got back on today i realised that i had been muted for 24 hours. I thought, fair enough, i was quite offensive at times. I went to check out the offense and the evidence and was shocked to see this:

<mod edit>

As you can see, i didn't encourage anyone to do anything against the rules on any level. Yet, i was muted for encouraging rule breaking.

I thought, meh, must have been a mistake, i will appeal it. I sent the following...

This is ridiculous. I didn't, ever, encourage anything! Read through the evidence yourself, there is nothing there apart from me telling everyone that bots can't do randoms!

I received the following response...

<mod edit>

Now... I have no problem with being muted for 24 hours for an offence that i have committed. I have no problem with being muted for 24 hours even it is isn't justified, as long as a real person has seriously considered that i didn't commit an offence and actually reads the evidence and my appeal. But when there is such an obvious problem with someone being too lazy to take at most 15 seconds to read through both the evidence and appeal, i have an issue with it.

Jagex's appeal system will continue to fail unless the people assigned to read appeals actually READ THE APPEALS AND EVIDENCE. As i stated at the start, this isn't me ranting about me being muted, but about the lack of respect and lack of quality in the appeal system.

Have any of you had issues with this system, such as incorrect evidence and a denied appeal to a 100% unrelated piece of evidence?

Final word:

Occasionally, innocent players might find themselves falsely accused of committing an offence, perhaps because they made an innocuous comment that was misinterpreted by another player. For this reason, reported incidents will be investigated thoroughly, and any evidence will be carefully evaluated, to ensure that innocent players are not given unwarranted penalties.

If i hold up my end of the bargain by sticking to Jagex's Rules of Conduct, i feel i deserve the same in return. As stated, they should investigate THOROUGHLY to ENSURE that innocent players are not give mutes and bans.

Are you a member? Yea Jagex really doesn't care about appeals at all. I've been banned for 5 years and they have sent me the exact same response on three different appeals.. They don't even have evidence for what I did wrong, and they said I was banned for bug abuse when it was autoing on RSC way back in the day. Jagex customer support is a complete joke to me.

I am a member. You'd think they would value their long time customers and respect their accounts =/

Well it depends if you use a free bot or a paid bot then come tell me bots can't do randoms

Dude, neither free or paid can 100% handle randoms. So shut the [bleep] up, you ignorant piece of [cabbage].

Yeah the cant handle all randoms but it is possible if the scripters decided to do it.

You can get 20 hour runs quite easily so

Why are you telling me what i already know? You say they could if they wanted to, then why havn't they? Because they don't know how.

You are an idiot if you think that, showing your lack of knowledge on the subject,

Gudi, please don't encourage trolls. Look at Deadknock's post count and join date, then look at how he is acting. He's trying to make you mad for the sake of making you mad. Please report trolls, don't reply to them.

Oh crap, and now I'm mini-moding >.<.

OT: Yeah, this is why I try to act like a saint when playing RS. But looking at your evidence, I can see that you being muted for that is BS.

*edit* (Should ave done a multi-quote for this)

Jagex said that they do not release evidence for macroing because it would only help scripters write better bots.

Yah that's complete Bullfeces. Their entire Customer support system needs to be revamped in my opinion.

And ignore trolls, Gudi. Again, look at his postcount+joindate..

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

facepalm

Obvious troll is not obvious enough for me :S

I finally got unmuted... About 35 hours after i was actually muted. Once again, Jagex, fine job.

Well this topic has fell into the pits of a flamefest.

If you want to rant about unfair mutes please use this topic. However you seem to have been unmuted already so there's probably no need to. Also note for next time that all account messages between Jagex and yourself should remain private.

If you look at the bright side of things, at least your mute was short.
