Every so often on Tip It, I will click a link, and before I know it, my page will be somewhere else entirely. I don't mean somewhere else on Tip It, I mean somewhere else on the web. Usually my anti-virus will catch it and prevent me from going all the way to the page, but even with that, it's still a major pain.

McAfee. I should probably add that it never happens with any other site, just with Tip It.

Does it redirect to a Dell Search page or an entirely different page?

 

If it's the Dell Search page, you must disable an internet addon called "CBrowserHelperObject" by Dell.

 

If it is an entirely different page, download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Software (completely free) and run a full scan and follow instructions. It can be downloaded here: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

It's a different page. I'm running a full-computer scan right now, but they run all the time anyway, so I am not sure what else will come up. If nothing comes up, I will try what you said. Thanks!

Tip it definitely has some sketchy stuff, I think the staff should look into it. Unfortunately I never recorded incidents where this happened to me too.

I personally blame McAfee. Whenever I used it, it gave me nothing but trouble. elsewise it could be a Dell problem like br3tt0wnz said. Also, anything relating to sites, Computers, Tech stuff etc go here ;)

Use option 5 first, if it doesnt work, then option 1.

Anti vrus are for detecting harmful file and (attempts to) prevent you from running it. It (usually) dont fix your problems.
