End of Blood Runs Deep

I was wondering, after you defeat the dagganoth mother and return to find Brand and Astrid dead, what happens if you attack Baba Yaga? I was very threatening in my talks with her, but in the end I left instead of attacking her. I was wondering if anyone attacked her, and if so, what happened?

She pretty much says something along the lines of... it wasn't her fault and couldn't do anything. She just teled away.

Shortest discussion ever.

OT: I didn't do the quest myself but from what I heard it was awesome!

I wonder if Baba Yaga and Korschei the Deathless are supposed to be secretly antagonists. I thought that in Slavic mythology they were evil.

Neither were evil. They were the type to be demanded respect and not think much of killing, but not evil.

Well, in Slavic mythology Koschei is a lich. It points to Koschei being a Mahjarrat (Kharshai).

The spelling in Russian and other Slavic languages (like Polish "Kościej") suggests that his name may be derived from the word "kost'" - bone (rus. кость pol. kość=bone); thus suggesting a skeleton-like appearance.

Koschei cannot be killed by conventional means targeting his body. His soul is hidden separate from his body inside a needle, which is in an egg, which is in a duck, which is in a hare, which is in an iron chest (sometimes the chest is crystal and/or gold), which is buried under a green oak tree, which is on the island of Buyan, in the ocean. As long as his soul is safe, he cannot die. If the chest is dug up and opened, the hare will bolt away. If it is killed, the duck will emerge and try to fly off. Anyone possessing the egg has Koschei in their power. He begins to weaken, becomes sick and immediately loses the use of his magic. If the egg is tossed about, he likewise is flung around against his will. If the egg or needle is broken (in some tales this must be done by specifically breaking it against Koschei's forehead), Koschei will die.

Kharshai may yet live, I can sense no trace of his death upon this world, but nor can I sense his pulse; perhaps his neutrality has earnt him a prison such as mine was.

Kharshai

A Mahjarrat of merely average power. Generally has kept himself out of trouble by going along with the majority, but with no specific close allies, he could be in danger at some point.

Strangely, Kharshai has disappeared. I did not think him so weak that he would be one of the Mahjarrat who chose to miss the last Ritual. Maybe I overestimated him.

Shouldn't Koschei, if he where a Mahjarrat, be a bit weaker/exhausted though, like Jhallan was?

priest_wiz.png

Kharshai could be more powerfull than Jhallan. Also, Jhallan used much of his power to transform into a Muspah when he was dreaming.

She got rid of the NPCS wife/husbands for us, and your planning to pay her back by attacking her?!!!

But Koschei cant be Kharshai since he has Zamorak's symbol on his chest...

I'd say that's the biggest evidence that he IS a Mahjarrat. A Zamorakian Mahjarrat that is.

Wow... He's gonna be screwed when the next major Mahjarrat quest comes out and Zaros comes back.

The Zamorak symbol came supposedly from the curse which wiped Koschei's mind.

If Koschei is confirmed to be Kharshai, it confirms the theory that the Mahjarrat use phylacteries (lichification) to be immortal, as long as the phylactery containing the soul of the Mahjarrat is not destroyed. (Cf. the needle of Koschei)

They said that the diamonds of Azzanadra, which contained Azzanadra's soul split in 4 parts, were created by the enemies, but should you believe everything that is said to you? I think that they were created by Azzanadra himself to become almost unkillable. The diamonds were stolen by his enemies, and he lost his power, just as Koschei (of Russian mythology) loses his powers if his needle is stolen.

The fact remains though that Zaros is in the most disadvantageous position at the moment.

He's banned, Zamorak has His godly powers and Lucien holds the key to godhood.

I wonder how He's going to get out of this cabbagehole.

priest_wiz.png

He might not be banned, he wasn't in Gielnor when the edicts were created. Who knows. Maybe we will become Zaros's vessel.

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

-Random Youtuber

I wonder how Guthix would be related to Zaros and the Mahjarrat. I remember there being a theory that Guthix was actually a Mahjarrat because he is a shape-shifter and had a skeletal icon from the old God Letters. I think there was also some kind of altar dedicated to him during WGS that showed a skeletal face with tentacles.

Do not forget he has the element of surprise. As the conversation with Azzanzdra at the end of Temple of Sennistinen suggests, only you and Azzanzdra know that Zaros is still alive.

Zamorak came out of banishment and completely conquered Morytania and wrecked Zaros. Although he did have the Staff of Armadyl, perhaps Zaros has a similar artifact?

Agreed. Zaros has My support..

it it came to killing him, i'd be all like: Um. No. Even if the reward was epic" I will not kill Zaros (if it came to it)

I don't know which mod did this. I don't know why they did it. If they're looking for money, I can tell them I don't have any as I'm a student. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over 4 years of RuneScape. Skills that I have worked hard for and people like them can't take them away. If they give me my particles back now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for them, I will not pursue them. But if they don't, I will look for them, I will find them, and they won't like what'll happen
