Blocking tasks

I've been using Kurdal lately and I've been wondering which tasks of hers would be the best to block. If you could give any advice, I'd appreciate it.

It's all personal opinion, a lot of people block black demons, I personally love that task.

 

Find the tasks you dislike, and block em.

I'm also curious here as to what are good tasks to block. You might want to provide income though, because cannoning/piety/etc are options for some, and not an option for others.

Really boils down to what you like and dislike. I have nothing blocked on my slayer tasks. I Am thinking of adding bloodvelds to it tho. But it has been along time since I did that task. I forget what they drop.

However much you like or dislike tasks doesn't change that some are better than others.

Well here are tasks i'd recommend blocking, assuming that summoning is really important to your goals as well (as it is in my case)

 

Kalphites are pretty bad in my opinion. The tasks go fast and they are fast slayer xp with a cannon. Unfortunately i find that the soldiers die faster than they spawn on full worlds even if you do use a cannon. The charm and all other drops are on the lower side of things as well.

 

Warped tortoises drop tortoise shells which are worth alot, but apparently they don't drop them noted, chiming is a pain, slayer xp isnt too great, and summoning xp is bound to be bad.

finishing a whole warped tortoises task will probably net you a alot of money, but once again i don't think it's worth it.

 

living rock creatures -> amazing slayer xp, but my max total friend still can't break 40k xp/hour with slayer mask + turmoil and not mining the living rock creatures for loot

The charms are mostly green, and the charm drop rate itself is average at best. The remains need to be mined for loot. I'd rather have a simple cannon task.

 

Abyssal demons -> believe it or not i know plenty of people who block abby demons. They are all filthy rich though.

Problem is abyssal demons have massive melee defence and very poor charm drops.

i dislike abby demons, but i wouldn't block em

 

Hellhounds + gargoyles + greaters -> poor to okay average summoning + slayer xp rates, but the new dungeon definitely makes them ALOT better.

 

Metal Dragons -> dbones are worth alot of money, but slayer xp is still pretty bad, summoning xp/slayer ratio is pretty good, but the kill rate is still slow, and the charms are still a bunch of greens.

 

alot of random tasks like terrordogs and suqah's get a bad rep because people don't slay them alot, and they don't have valuable drops. These tasks arent necessarily bad. They're short, there are better tasks worth dropping, and the xp rates often surprise you.

For me i only have Hellhounds and Kalphites blocked. I took Aquanites off the list due to Kuradal not assigning them and took Steel Dragons off as they're a lot easier to do now with the new dungeon.

 

But like other said, block what you don't feel like doing. Don't forget though you can skip tasks if you don't feel like doing it right then.

I have Black Demons and Waterfiends. 94 Slayer. Everything else that I'm assigned is pretty slayable.

I suppose its all down to whether you are just wanting the Slayer xp or want to make cash while you do it. For example, one single Warp tort assign can net you up to a mill gp (Shells, noted mith, coal. Alching the Addy/rune drops) and with the duel ring> Mob army.>spirit tree>return you can bank and be back in under 30 seconds. Kalphites are a pain but take a Bob pouch and stock up with potato cactii once you are done (umm.. 3k gp ea? I think)

Ya but would you rather block a task you like to do and be stuck doing one you can't stand at all? Thats why some people block Abbys since they rather not do them, even though they're one of the better tasks to do, not only due to the whips but because they are one of the better crimson droppers and still make profit without the whip. And the higher and better you combat stats and your cash pile are, the better you can do those other tasks. Steel dragons use to be a pain but now they are easier and i can kill about 1 a min, meaning i don't mind that task at all seeing as i profit from it and i get some decent exp.

 

If you want to go for maximum efficiency, and get the best slayer exp then by all means block the worst tasks. Cannon all the tasks you can, use piety/turmoil on all the tasks and skip those bad tasks that tend to take forever to do.

 

Or... you can have fun since it is just a game after all.

Many people have more fun by doing things efficiently. Telling people not to block 4 tasks is like telling someone who asks about runecrafting to mix it up by crafting different runes. Some might like the variety, but ultimately, the question is about efficiency.
