Need help with basics quest

so, im doing the basics quest, and ive done everything so far,

but theres 2 things i cant get for some reason.. the quest tells me to go get water and mine clay,

then go to potter's house and spin the soft clay into a pot, then put in the fire and i should be done.

 

well, ive done this 3 times, and it says i havnt completed the quest?

please help!

What quest is this it sounds familiar, I'd love help.

Lumbridge beginner's diary. Are you making sure to following the exact wording of the task, such as making the clay inside the potter's house? If it still isn't showing up as completed, you might not have unlocked the diary to begin with. Go talk to Explorer Jack and go through the entire conversation.

Make sure the diary is highlighted yellow and follow the text EXACTLY.

1.The clay has to be mined at the Varrock mine by the Champions Guild.

 

2. The soft clay has to be done in the Draynor pottery.

 

I messed up making the soft clay. :P

You're sorta wrong about #1. "A" clay needs to be mined at Champs, not "the" same piece of clay.

Nice name. Greek mythology or what? Anyway, like everyone says, follow the words to the letter. It won't work if you miss an important b it, like WHERE do make the clay or where to mine it.

so, i didnt everything the YELLOW writing said, what i didnt read was the BLACK writeing saying "Make clay in DRAYNOR VILLAGE"

 

i was doing this in Barbairan Village....

We all make mistakes, like when I was doing the fremennik trails (the part where you had to fight the person in the cave and you weren't allowed to take anything stat changing item in the cave.

 

The first time:

I ran to the place form Camelot and forgot about my amulet of glory then ran back.

 

The second time:

I ran back to the place and forgot about my boots.

 

The third time:

I ran back t the place and forgot my axe that was needed in the quest later on.

 

So I spent 15-20 minutes running in circles not knowing what to do.

So everyone will make mistakes, lol.
