TheLad1
I've got enough Green Charms to comfortably get me to 99 Summoning (need 6258 & have 11k+), however, I'm down to my last 420 Crimsons & I have always levelled using either Crimsons or Blues. All of my Charms have been obtained through Slayer Tasks - No Camping or Bursting Rock Lobbies. As a side note, I've got a further 22k of Golds that are taking up space in my Bank - these are unlikely to ever be used unless they bring out an alternative use for them :) I'd like some input from you as to whether I should use my Green Charms & make 7691 Unicorn Pouches, which will take me approximately 6 hours & I run the risk of getting a major case of RSI & perhaps pass away from mind numbing boredom :) Alternatively, I could keep slaying until I get say 1500 Crimsons & c150 Blues (dependant on tasks) & then use these, which would leave me only needing to use about 2k of the Greens. This would save me about 3 hours. I'd keep some Crimsons back to make Steel Titans - however, now I've swapped To Kuradal & the ability to use fighting familiars on her tasks is limited so I'd like some guidance as to where a Steel Titan would be worth using. If you were me would you take the pain now & level using Greens or keep doing something you enjoy (Slayer) & build up more Crimson & Blues that way with the aim to level in about 2 weeks? Thanks in advance for any constructive input.
Ermy
Definitely go for the crimsons, greens are pretty costly to use for training. Those with a little bit of knowledge are more dangerous than those with none.
DarkDude
Personally I'd use the greens to make Unicorns and scrolls, you'll be using those a lot and unless you already have a lot of unicorns you might as well do so now.
D Jay99
You could just use the golds, they're pretty cheap, you have them anyway and it's still only 4-5 hours or something to 99. which will take me approximately 6 hoursWhat do you mean? You can get 2.5k charms/hour easily, up to 3k if you kinda concentrate. Would be 3-4 hours at most.
Obtaurian
It's probably more worth it to slay the remaining charms. Alternatively, you could go to CT waterfiends with your Iron Titan, which would be faster and (possibly) more fun. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. TheLad1
2 differing opinions in first 2 posts - thats what I like to see. I've just got a Waterfiend task - so I'll do this & get about 160 Crimsons this way. Money isn't really an option - I've got a cash pile of about 200m, however, would rather spend this on Herblore which is proving to be very costly (just spent 50m on Wednesday getting 5 levels!! - I didn't sell any of the potions so I guess I turned 50m cash into 10m of items) My gut feeling is telling me to slay for the next 2 weeks & see how many Crimsons & Blues I end up with and then give it a go. massicist
Using golds would kill you- they're so slow. In a similiar vein, greens are very high gp/xp (around 20 gp/xp last time I calculated it, which was admittedly a long time ago). If I was in your position I'd slay for the charms, as slayer ranks are hot :^_^:. If you don't care for ranks, CT waterfiends can easily yield 150 crimsons/hr.Also regarding your idea to make steel titans when you achieve 99, titans are easy to buy on GE, as are the scrolls, and often buy for lowest. If you're going for ranks then by all means, but it's not really worth it to make them. Yaks are the better option (or were: like I said I did all my calculations quite a while ago). EDIT: Just read the last bit of your post!Steel titans are worth using on anything you can, really. I use them when I do fire giants, nechs, dust devils, dagannoths, m-bloodveld. Probably more which I can't recall right now. I use the scrolls on anything which I don't cannon.
TheLad1
If I was in your position I'd slay for the charms, as slayer ranks are hot :^_^:. I would like to break into the top 1k Slayers - Ranked 1030 at the moment :) Thanks for everyones input so far - makes a change to have a flame free topic nowadays :)
massicist
Depending on what tasks you do, sl:su exp is roughly 1:0.9, so banking 99 summoning would get you up to around rank 800 slayer. Doubt you'd stay top 1,000 for more than a few months unless you kept going, slayer ranks move fast.
Wisardsamm
If you don't mind the long wait, then just slayer the crims/blues then. But if you really want 99 I suggest doing greens.

This got me thinking as to why my charms per hour looked so low & I've realised I calculate mine against the Kyatt, which only lasts 49 minutes - I've understated my 'performance' by 11 minutes per hour or 18%. I feel a bit better now !!!
Robert_R
Personally I'd just keep slaying and save some money and time training summoning using crimsons and blues only.
lordkafei
If money is truly no object, just take a cannon to dusties and farm crimsons. Cptbaker08
If money is truly no object, just take a cannon to dusties and farm crimsons.Much better places to cannon for charms then dusties. Black Demons and Scabarites are 2 options. Seeing as you want to get into the top 1k slayers, might as well just slay the charms. Don't forget though, you'll make some more money as well while slaying to get those charms. That should help you out some more and not have to use some of you cash pile.
